Our technology teams work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank. Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers. We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world.
Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2020 and beyond, we are currently seeking a CIB Cyber Delivery and Strategy Lead to join HSBC Technology.
What you’ll do
The CIB Cyber Delivery and Strategy Lead is a multi-faceted, internal-facing role within the CIB CISO function with specific responsibility for leading the development and coordinating execution of the cybersecurity strategy in alignment with Group Cybersecurity and CIB priorities. This includes managing a range of critical support services and processes which ensure the effective and efficient running and operation of the function - including responding to external demand.
Responsibilities:
• In partnership with the CIB CISO, lead the development, maintenance and execution of the CIB cybersecurity strategy, including management of relationships with relevant CIB IT/Business partners whom are key stakeholders of the cybersecurity strategy• Ensure delivery against cybersecurity priorities and alignment with business objectives – including but not limited to: critical team management activity and planning (e.g., resource planning and management, ongoing operating model management); ongoing design/management/execution of processes/procedures• Support the CIB CISO in defining and implementing necessary governance structures and strategy within the team and supporting CIB priorities.• Develop and maintain team specific processes and procedures for delivering the goals and commitments of the team – this will include leading and defining existing and Target Operating Models, with ongoing maintenance of same.• Maintain a consolidated view of information and cybersecurity risks and controls across CIB. Work with Cybersecurity data/metrics teams to extract trends, comparative views and rolled up analysis for reporting to senior management.• Resolving issues and managing risks – overcoming challenges – developing path to green plans
Required skills:
• Minimum Bachelor Degree and/or experience in IT security governance and operational processes, preferably in the Financial Services industry or global corporate service provider• Some understanding and knowledge of common industry cyber security frameworks, standards and methodologies• Ability to lead the development and execution of complex global strategies• Ability to identify, develop and track key performance indicator (KPI) metrics for accurate and contextual evaluation of operational effectiveness as well as providing recommendations for control improvement and mitigating control adjustments.• Excellent understanding of business finance as well as effective management of budgets and expenditures.• Ability to identify, develop and track key risk indicators (KRI) for accurate and contextual evaluation of operational risks as well as providing recommendations for control improvement and mitigating control adjustments.• Strong decision-making capabilities, with a proven ability to weigh the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and identify the most appropriate one.• Ability to orchestrate, plan, manage and successfully implement major procedural and technological change within a complex, global organisation.
