Your career opportunity
The Group CIO Chief Control Office (GCIO CCO) plays a key role in ensuring the bank operates within its risk tolerances and appetite by embedding effective risk and control management across GCIO. This role sits within the GCIO CCO area supporting GCIO Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is responsible for providing governance, oversight, and execution of risk and control management processes across the GCIO organisation, evolving a culture of continuous and consistent risk management.
The Senior Control Manager, GCIO COO will drive governance responses, residual risk management, and cross-functional risk initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal frameworks.

What you’ll do
Collaborate with the GCIO COO team to manage the risk and control portfolio for their services, including risk assessments, control environments, issue management, and audits.
Assist in the ongoing enhancement of the control environment and risk monitoring, focusing on behaviours and encouraging a proactive risk culture.
Spot trends to help predict future developments in the risk and control landscape.
Proactively address and question ineffective or excessive controls, tasks, and behaviours.
Offer expert insights on risk and control, spearheading improvements in the control environment and risk monitoring.
Keep stakeholders informed about policy or change initiatives affecting operational risk in their areas.
Promote the behaviours needed to advance the understanding and management of technology risk controls within the CCO team and beyond.

What you need to have to succeed in this role
Expertise in non-financial risk management, governance, and frameworks.
Strong understanding in at least one of the following risk domains: change execution, people, financial reporting or compliance.
Experience working with senior stakeholders, and cross-functional risk committees.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior executives across a complex organisation.
Ability to interpret and challenge risk assessments, issue management, and control effectiveness.
Strategic thinker with the ability to execute under pressure, responding to urgent risk matters effectively.
Solid English language communication skills to be able influence and challenge stakeholders, “Bilingual Proficiency” level desirable, “Professional Proficiency/Fluent” level minimum.
Certifications such as CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, COBIT, or ITIL are desirable.
