Your career opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join Content Publishing and Personalisation – SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) Team as a Performance Tests Engineer. You will be a key contributor embedded with in an Agile cross functional team, which driving innovation, delivering HSBC product. You will help to drive the continuous improvement of our processes, tooling and engineering practices.
What you’ll do
- Work with both your team and other cross functional teams to plan and execute performance test using the latest processes and Tools to deliver frequently, safely and efficiently for millions of HSBC customers.
- Design and maintaining performance script suites of delivered functionalities. Create new / develop existing test performance suites.
- Test applications embedded on the AEM platform (Adobe Experience Manager). Document test results by raising defect tickets and creating reports.
- Work closely, communicate and plan with BA, PO, APM and DEV.
- Ensuring that delivered functionalities are covered by automated tests on a proper level.
- Participate in engineering discipline, best practice and standards compliance within HSBC and global IT.
- Support other testers in the team.
- Contribute to the improvements of the testing process and automation frameworks as part of the wider QA & Test Community.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Proficient in defining performance test objectives, SLAs/SLOs, and acceptance criteria by analysing functional and non-functional requirements (e.g., response time, throughput, concurrency, scalability, resilience).
- Broad experience across performance testing types, including load, stress, spike, endurance/soak, volume, scalability/capacity, and baseline/benchmark testing, with the ability to interpret results and recommend improvements.
- Strong knowledge of what constitutes useful performance automation, including designing and maintaining repeatable performance test suites, integrating them into CI/CD, and producing actionable reporting (trend analysis, pass/fail gates).
- Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Lighthouse) and monitoring/observability tooling (e.g. AppDynamics, New Relic) to correlate test results with system behaviour.
- Solid understanding of Git workflows for versioning test scripts, test data, and configuration, including code reviews and branching strategies.
- Working experience of Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), collaborating closely with developers, SRE/operations, and product teams to shift performance testing left and support continuous improvement.
Nice to have
- Working experience with test automation using Playwright framework and API testing automation.
- Expertise in API testing using tools like Postman, Swagger or similar.
- Experience of using AEM (Adobe Experience Manager).
- Experience with performance testing tools eg JMeter.
- Knowledge of monitoring / logging tools eg AppDynamics/Splunk.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Basic knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure platforms.
- Understanding of testing microservices.
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 17 484 PLN - 26 225 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
