Finance – GM Finance Department

Hang Seng's Finance function works closely with the Bank's stakeholders, including business partners, shareholders, regulators and external examiners. We function as their accountants and business partners in providing comprehensive information on financial management, financial planning, financial reporting and compliance, capital planning and reporting, financial control & SOX control, tax advisory, insurance finance, and global markets finance.

As a publicly listed Bank in HK as well as a subsidiary of the HSBC Group, the Bank is governed by the compliance and disclosure of financial reporting requirement from various regulators. It is important for Financial Control to implement, manage and enforce appropriate operational risk management through the Group’s Operational Risk Management Framework appropriately to monitor and mitigate those risk.

Global Markets Finance Department (“TFC”) is a business finance function supporting and controlling Global Markets activities, under product control, reporting and control sections.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Global Markets Control Manager.

Principal responsibilities

  • Support the finance control function to perform control and review over the global markets activities
  • Perform valuation control including market data inputs, adjustment entries and preparation of reports for review to Valuation Committee
  • Perform monthly and other regular internal and group reporting on markets products
  • Coordinate update of control procedures, desk instruction manuals and policy papers
  • Handle projects and ad hoc queries
  • Participate in reviewing control processes and UAT for new GM products
Requirements
  • University degree in Finance, Accounting or Risk Management OR a related discipline, with other professional qualification such as TMA, CFA, FRM or HKICPA an advantage
  • Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in banks or financial institutions, preferably with finance / product control with knowledge and exposure to treasury / derivatives products
  • Ability to work independently, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective service processes
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese
