Global Operations and Automation (GO&A) exist ‘To enable HSBC with Bank wide process transformation capabilities through resilient and scalable intelligent automation technology and services. The team are truly global: developing and delivering change across all key markets supported by HSBC with a host of leading technologies. They provide technology ownership of several hundred applications that are integral to the successful support to HSBC Global Operations. 

Role Description:

Part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) reporting to the CIO, the Heads of GO&A Technology Outcomes are challenging roles that have overall accountability for leading and delivering the end-to-end Technology outcomes to support the long-term strategic direction and value that key Global Business Group Functions (GB/GFs) need to achieve. Having both deep business and technical expertise allowing them to develop and drive innovation and incubation of solutions for our customer propositions that use both GO&A and wider Technology enablers to deliver cost effective strategic benefits.

This requires a broad range of expertise from multiple disciplines including Developing Product Propositions, Technology (software / solution design) and Service Oversight. Accountable for senior stakeholder relationship management, investment cases and solutioning all the way through successful delivery into live operation and ongoing maintenance. Guiding the strategy around the customer journey and the component parts of this to create a holistic customer experience. Untimely responsibility for revenue, cost and risk management for solutions or value streams within their scope.

Responsibilities:

§  Delivery and Operation: Accountable for shaping and delivering the end-to-end Technology outcomes of both change and run to meet the Business needs. Assessing feasibility of delivery and optimising costs for the proposed solution including the readiness to build against the prioritisation backlog. Partnering with the respective GB/GFs and Regions to understand their long-term strategic business direction and value targets. Identifying and building appropriate global, reusable technologies and capabilities which can be leveraged, or driving new solutions to ensure efficient technology delivery that provides value for money.

§  Relationship Management: Relationship/Account Management including product propositions and technology portfolio delivery and maintenance for our key stakeholders.

§  Innovation: Drive innovation & incubation of Solutions to deliver benefits for the respective GB/GFs in partnership with GO&A SME e.g. Enabler Leads, Business Automation Leads, Product Transformation Lead, Emerging Technologies etc.

§  Value Stream adoption: Work with the respective Transformation and Operations teams to embed Operations and their OKRs into the respective GB/GF value streams and Enabler value streams.

§  Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technology owned risks to ensure operation within acceptable risk thresholds and partner with Head of Service, Head of Software Engineering, Cybersecurity etc to ensure service resilience and compliance. Acting as an escalation point for GB/GFs stakeholder risks or issues.

 

Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience:

§   Proven experience in a relevant role e.g., as a Technology Value Stream Lead, Senior Product Owner or other, with the focus of enabling automation within the Wealth and Private Banking space

§   Evidence of deep technical and business operational knowledge across a variety of technologies and businesses.

§   Experience of running Technology Engineering teams preferable with the view to automating processes resulting in cost savings for the customer.

§   Evidence of delivering and driving strategic benefits for business and operations.

§   Proven experience of partnering effectively with Executive Level business stakeholders e.g. Group General Managers and making commercially astute decisions.

§   Expert understanding of products, services, and underlying processes for Value Stream.

§   Experience of DevOps/DevSecOps or Scaled Agile processes.

§   Ability to champion the customer in strategic and tactical decision-making scenarios.

The role will be based in Sheffield but some travel may be required. This role supports Hybrid working.
