We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Reward+.  

Role purpose

Reward+ is a leading loyalty platform in Hong Kong, offering HSBC customers offers and insights, and different options to earn and burn RewardCash. Reward+ is a key differentiation factor for our Credit Cards currently, with millions of users and transactions. 

We are seeking for a leader to expand our innovation and leadership on Reward+ and loyalty, shaping the vision for Reward+, developing the strategy and driving the execution. This is a very strategic role to position HSBC even higher as the leading financial institution in Hong Kong, combining innovation, strategic thinking and execution.  

Key responsibilities

  • Shape the vision for Reward+, considering HSBC Hong Kong’s strategic objectives 
  • Lead the strategic plan definition and execution for Reward+, including the 3-5-year view on how to expand its reach beyond HSBC and beyond banking, as the centralized loyalty platform for our banking customers, 
  • Define the development roadmap to expand user base and customer engagement in a sustainable way 
  • Drive digital innovation through Reward+ app to provide one-stop and easy to navigate journey and channels to manage and use loyalty points 
  • Create compelling reasons for customers and partners to further use Reward+ 
  • Review, prioritize and implement new ways to monetize Reward+ capabilities 
  • Work closely with Proposition, Marketing, Products, Data & Analytics, Digital, Distribution and second line of defence to ensure alignment and collaboration 
  • Drive commercialization of Reward+ and journeys 
  • Monitor competitive landscape and best-in-class digital players to ensure we remain at the forefront of the market 
  • Define and drive the backlog/roadmap, ensuring flexibility to adjust to changing market dynamics, while aligning closely with the different teams to meet evolving customer and partner needs

Requirements

Requirements

  • Strong experience in loyalty and rewards, preferably within Retail Banking
  • Demonstrable management experience in driving change/transformation initiatives 
  • Ability to drive innovation and think strategically 
  • Good knowledge of financial product revenue drivers 
  • Experienced in strategy and business development, with demonstrated ability to grow and drive a business 
  • Focused and driven to deliver results in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong experience developing solutions and journeys to meet customer needs 
  • Customer oriented, culturally sensitive and understanding of local customer needs strong relationship building and senior stakeholder management skills 
  • Able to navigate conflicting strategic priorities and decisions 
  • Able to influence, engage and lead in a positive, inspiring manner 

Role Attributes

Experience 
- Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within one discipline

Business / Commercial knowledge 
- The role requires a sound understanding of a value unit / product / region / legal entity, alongside a good understanding of the industry and the challenges and changes in the sector.

Leadership
- Management responsibilities for a sizeable team of professionals (including responsibility for budget, and planning)

Problem Solving
- Covers a wide range of diverse activities that require complex judgements and solutions based on conceptual thought and strategic vision and analysis
