We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Vice President - Data and Analytics

Business : Intl Wealth & Premier Banking

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Partner with marketing to define the marketing effectiveness strategy, define shared OKRs.
  • Work with markets to interlock OKRs and book of work and develop roadmaps to deliver agreed OKRs.
  • Leverage subject matter expertise in marketing effectiveness tools & techniques to drive incremental growth & improved marketing performance and ROMI.
  • Lead concept to implementation of marketing effectiveness analytics supporting stakeholder teams; identifying trends, areas of improvement and opportunities; creating hypothesis and making recommendations to improve marketing performance.
  • Create consistent & timely performance marketing effectiveness dashboards to support stakeholder teams across global/regional/local as required.
  • Lead sophisticated analytics capabilities (market mix modelling etc.) to drive better marketing planning & performance effectiveness
  • Guide markets to improve the quality of their campaign measurement
  • Support coordination of the book of work with other global/regional/local/offshore teams to drive delivery of relevant ME capability & actively support decision-making for stakeholders’ and wider business teams
  • Share best practice with the wider marketing community and business areas. Provide support, knowledge and expertise where required to drive forward analytics expertise and understanding of customer behaviour as well as ME performance.
  • Drive in-depth analysis to identify trends and opportunities for the business; actively create hypotheses and make recommendations to drive forward Marketing Effectiveness performance and KPIs.
  • Embed the use of AI/ML concepts, methodologies and tools. Identify use cases to improve marketing effectiveness and sophistication through sophisticated use of AI/ML techniques.
  • Execute the model governance process for models built by D&A to ensure MRM compliance.
  • Support Marketing teams to navigate model governance. Aid key documentation and establish tools, frameworks and processes to support marketing to be MRM compliant
  • Contribute to the development of wider analytics expertise through the IWPB analytics community and the wider business through active support, coaching & best practice sharing in line with IWPB analytics principles.

Requirements
  • Subject Matter expert with specialized expertise in marketing effectiveness and proven track record of delivering marketing effectiveness analytics tools, insights and capabilities in large complex global organisations
  • Marketing analytics expertise with proven ability to drive commercial value through analysis of complex data, identify key trends and opportunities, putting forward hypotheses and delivering recommendations.
  • Strong subject matter expertise & proven experience in marketing effectiveness tools, techniques and solutions – Market Mix Modelling, campaign measurement approaches, media planning and spend allocation etc.
  • Excellent Numerical, Analytical and Presentation skills.
  • Expertise in modelling and understanding of model governance requirements
  • Deep expertise of analytics tools – R/Python/SAS
  • Expertise in SQL, SAS and other Database/Data Manipulation tools
  • Experience in data visualization tools and techniques – previous experience with Qliksense, Looker or similar
  • Good knowledge and commensurate experience with AI/ML concepts, techniques and tools including Gen AI
  • Strong experience of MS Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Experience of manipulating data to create customer led, data driven reports
  • Expertise and strong experience with paid media channels, including technical, commercial, marketplace and customer considerations.
  • Strong communication skills for navigating through business requirements, ability to involve others in discussions of alternatives, asking for their suggestions and steering them to a mutually acceptable position
  • Innovative – the ability to approach things differently or do different things to deliver goals.

Others

  • Working closely with IWPB Marketing, Analytics as well as market teams to develop ME capabilities.
  • Build strong relationships with global, regional and local marketing teams as well as other global & local analytics teams both in global, offshore and in market to bring data driven insight to life
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders including Global Marketing Effectiveness, Data & Analytics, IT, Finance as well as Legal & Compliance
  • Drive process re-engineering, improvements in existing delivery mechanism and accelerate re-deployment of analytic solutions by promoting “Build Once, Deploy Many” culture
  • Build rigorous project plans and ensure deadlines are met, collaboratively build longer term roadmaps with Marketing
  • Continuously review key risks and proactively institute controls in place to address the same.
  • Oversee Quality Control in Marketing Effectiveness analytics output
  • Support the IWPB Analytics management team as well as HSBC Marketing in ensuring goals are identified, agreed and delivered with utmost efficiency.
  • Adhere to HSBC Marketing Effectiveness analytics processes supporting IWPB Marketing teams to embed data driven culture
  • Align to IWPB Analytics data & model governance, data security and data definitions and standards
  • Identifying key risks, issues and interdependencies and providing appropriate mitigation strategies or escalation.
  • Supporting audit / independent programme assessments as required
  • Favour the approach of setting up capabilities in a way that the end user can manage the update process with little guidance
  • Develop our knowledge and understanding of the leading analytics approaches to drive digital acquisition & marketing effectiveness and develop information processes to educate colleagues across the business
  • Keep a strong focus on digital channels at the same time as working towards an integrated approach to the omni channel customer experience
  • Operate in a global team that can work across time zones and with markets in various states of digital development
  • Adapt rapidly to a changing internal environment as the organization challenges itself to become a leader instead of a follower in this analytical specialism
