We are looking for Senior Systems Administrator
In this role, you will:
Primary responsibility of this role is to provide 24x7 production support to Linux/VCS.
The job holder is responsible for technical delivery of 24x7 production support to Linux/VCS and work as a Subject Matter Expert for the production support team.
Perform Root Cause Analysis and provide permanent fixes.
Investigate and provide solutions to database performance related issues.
Lead Unix team in crisis calls, participate in MIR and PIR calls, also mentor team members.
Experience and expertise in maintaining complex High Availability & Replication setups.
Provide consultancy for complex setups and Disaster Recovery
- Identify automation and Self-Healing opportunities and develop automation to reduce manual efforts and standardize processes
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Support and maintenance: Proactively support, maintain, and engineer critical Linux infrastructure for global payment solutions.
Incident resolution: Resolve incidents across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd levels, including leading crisis calls, performing root cause analysis, and implementing remedial actions.
Technical communication: Communicate complex technical solutions and problems effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
System management: Manage and implement software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes, while ensuring system performance through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.
Automation and scripting: Create and modify scripts using Shell, Python, or Ansible to automate infrastructure tasks.
Continuous improvement: Collaborate with other teams to improve system stability, security, efficiency, and scalability by developing new automations and self-service solutions.
Required expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of Linux, including RedHat, Veritas cluster, and Veritas Volume Manager, with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Flexibility and skills: Work UK business hours, with a requirement for on-call support. Experience with VMWare, SAN management, DevOps, Docker, and Kubernetes is an advantage.
