This team is the backbone of our Global Markets business (one of the largest of its kind in the world) and combines sophisticated 24-hour global coverage with a detailed knowledge of local markets and specialises in foreign exchange, credits and rates, structured derivatives, equities and debt, equity and equity-linked capital markets.

Markets Operations is responsible for driving every part of the trade lifecycle post-execution. This team manages settlement activity, risk and control, adherence to regulatory compliance, and seamless operational client service across 58 countries and territories.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Manager, FX and Commodities Middle Office.

Principal Responsibilities

In this role you will

  • Provide efficient and effective operational support of the FX Cash and Commodities Middle Office function across Trading and Sales

  • Timely deal capture, amendments and trade lifecycle management to ensure complete and accurate data

  • Key EOD Control monitoring – the Manager FX & Commodities Middle Office role will form an independent control to flag and detect potential trading position or P&L anomalies to the business heads

  • A key attribute is the acumen to raise questions and escalate on potential fraudulent or inappropriate activities within the business to provide the required front office supervisory oversight

  • The FX & Commodities business is undergoing continuous evolution in digitisation and with significant focus on technology, the role will also require a strong acumen to operate and navigating across different types of trading and order management systems

Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Preference with experience working in the Front Office

  • Possess in depth knowledge of related products, strong acumen to operate and navigation across different trading and order management systems

  • Clear understanding of Front to Back of the business and trade booking model

  • Strong customer focus with a drive to deliver high standards of service to internal and external clients

  • Strong communication skills to lead both verbal and written to influence and negotiate with peers and the management team

  • Pro-active and driven – being innovative to execute process review and re-engineering to improve operational efficiency

  • Demonstrate understanding of the target operating principles with the ability to translate ideas into practical implementations and strategic solutions

  • Possess project management experience and good understanding of the project life cycles/milestones e.g., Agile - ability to formulate strategic business requirements, overseeing the required workflow changes and training plans to contribute to the project delivery. Knowledge of latest tools for project management and implementations. Exhibiting the capacity to operate in virtual team involving offshored processing centres and global teams across different locations and cultures
