Role Overview:
Global Finance is integral to HSBC’s purpose and strategy, playing a valued role in managing costs and deploying capital in the most effective way. Our global team of finance professionals’ partner with the business to provide trusted insights and forward-looking analysis; accuracy; efficiency and control to frame and influence business decisions.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an FP&A Manager in MENAT with a focus on strategic cost management (SCM)
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Support the MENAT Head of Finance Performance & Analysis in the delivery of regional strategic cost management activities including forecasts, annual plans, analysis & insights, projects and oversight of cost related processes, controls.
• Partner across key stakeholders including Group/Asia FP&A and Strategic Cost Management teams, Global Finance Centres, Global Businesses and Group Infrastructure
• Challenge performance drivers vs target and prior year to identify and quantify risks and opportunities, and pro-actively track and drive associated actions through to conclusion including verbal/written updates to senior management (e.g. to OpCos, Board)
• Closely track and enhance the analysis of regional investment spend via engagement with Group Infrastructure stakeholders and our MENAT Transformation Office, businesses and legal entities and action/advocate any escalations to regional and Group stakeholders in a timely manner
• Lead on adhoc and larger scale project or group related activities including the build out of our Emiratization programme, tracking of cost action initiatives, NDA project cost modelling and delivery against organizational change and other strategic / scorecard KPIs.
• Explore, implement and proactively drive forward the use of innovative technology within own or other teams (e.g. low code tooling such as PowerBI, Alteryx etc.) alongside associated process and MI re-engineering to enhance FP&A efficiency, quality of analysis and control environment in our pursuit of supporting the business and achieving strategic objectives
• Due to the high degree of change in the industry, regulatory environment, macroeconomic environment and internally, the role holder will be required to be comfortable with ambiguity and be adaptable to the evolving environment
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications:
• Graduation degree is REQUIRED– to secure a UAE Visa and Work Permit.
• Proven experience of exploring, implementing or proactively driving forward the use of innovative technology within own or other teams (e.g. low code tooling such as PowerBI, Alteryx etc.)
• A professional Finance qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) and previous cost management / analysis experience preferred
• Experience in operating at a senior level within complex Financial Services organizations (Banking preferred) and summarizing key issues, implications and recommending next steps in clear language
• Significant business analysis experience to analyze/interrogate data and understand technical concepts
• Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability of excellent stakeholder management, working effectively across teams and problem solving with the confidence to make measured decisions which may have far reaching implications
• Ability to work effectively with competing priorities, and apply analytical rigor and structure to unstructured problems or complex asks
