Role Purpose:
- This will be a hybrid role with a reporting line into regional head of Liquidity sales and local entity reporting into Japan institutional sales head
- Individual is expected to spend at least 50% of their time on liquidity responsibilities and to spend rest (nearly 50%) of time on Long Term Institutinal sales.
- Assisting in establishing new business relationships and strengthening existing ones, whilst ensuring fair outcomes for all types of customers
- Assisting in the communication of new products, propositions and relevant market information to customers based in Japan
Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for identifying sales opportunities proactively and developing these opportunities in liquidity solutions.
- Supporting distribution channel business development strategies and work closely with institutional sales team in coverage of key institutional clients for liquidity and Long Term products.
- Supporting plans and strategies to generate new business, as well as increasing revenue for existing ones, in order to achieve asset growth, sales or revenue targets
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders such as regional investment specialists to maximise cross-selling opportunities for the bank
- Participating in events, initiatives and activities to develop business opportunities
- Protecting the HSBC Group’s reputation and ensuring an acceptable risk profile, whilst deepening your understanding of the client through credit and customer due diligence reviews
Qualifications
Experience, Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial industry.
- Proven track record in sales/business development, institutional sales expansion
- Prior coverage of corporate/FIG sectors in a sales or client-facing role
- Ability and willingness to develop technical knowledge in short-term investment solutions
- Excellent presentation skills, relationship management and organizational skills
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and be plugged into a global specialist sales team
- Drive and determination to be successful and achieve the ambitious growth targets
- Language Skills: Fluent in English, Native and Fluent in Japanese.
