Developing investment solutions for our internal client groups (IWPB and CMB) is a key focus of HSBC value strategy.
External customers are a key component of our investor base and a strategic driver for growth.
This position plays a key role in the expansion of our business for internal and external clients, supporting sales to build a new relationship that guarantees an effective link between the management and distribution of portfolios.
The collaborator seeks close collaboration with the investment, client proposition, product, and sales teams to ensure we have the right solutions for our specific customer segments.
The success of this role depends on the employee's ability to defend, promote, and develop the products both internally and externally.
Liaison with colleagues in our key locations is required, as well as support of initiatives predominantly in Mexico.
Main Responsibilities
- Initiate and lead the evolution of product capabilities (fund launches, reorganisation), act as a point person for fund launches and modernize them.
- Maintain a solid understanding of competitive positioning in the industry.
- Provide regular feedback on key competitors and market trends.
- Track regulatory changes that impact investment funds and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for actions.
- Represent the Investment team before the main stakeholders and clients.
- Fluency in knowledge of the fund investment process, points of view and positions.
- Provide thought leadership in the product space, to include written materials for external publication.
- Provide effective customer communication to specific customer segments.
- Understand our process and how it differs from key competitors
- Provide current market updates and strategies to sales teams on a regular basis.
- Provide timely feedback on fund performance and ensure proactive communication in the event of a "market event"
- Proactively communicate sales proposals and investment opportunities.
- Provide written portfolio strategy feedback for use in client reports/fact sheets in accordance with pre-agreed timelines
- Update marketing materials
- Agree on appropriate guidelines and characteristics for mandates
- Upon express request, attend some meetings with clients.
- Experience in an investment role, investment specialist, sales or product.
- Experience of selling or purchasing similar products applies.
- Experience in customer-facing activities with institutions such as investors.
- Experience in managing interest groups.
- Good knowledge of financial asset investment capabilities
- Strong understanding of competitor products and capabilities.
- Experienced practitioner with relevant postgraduate investment qualification
- CFA or equivalent postgraduate investment qualification.
- Highly motivated and with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills
- Occasional travel is required.
