The Company Secretarial function leads, develops and manages corporate governance throughout the Group. As principal advisors to the boards of directors on corporate governance matters, the team also holds responsibility for establishing and managing stock exchange listings; directing and managing shareholder meetings and equity raisings, and representing Group interests in the development of laws and regulations.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Protective Security Operations Manager.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
Team Leadership
- Lead a 24/7 security team of about 80 personnel (internal and vendor-supplied) across the Main Treasury and two Data Centres
- Administering, performance-manage, and develop security teams through training and mentorship. Contribute to wider PS Team business planning and improvement initiatives
Service Delivery
- Plan, deliver and monitor security operations at all sites, ensuring alignment with HSBC’s Branch Network and Treasury Operations. Develop, implement and continuously improve procedures, tools, and technologies (e.g. access controls, CCTV)
- Proactively manage contracted vendors and track SLAs/performance metrics. Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance security resilience
Incident Response
- Coordinate with the Security Operations Centre (SOC) to respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies across your area of responsibilities. Maintain and implement site-specific response procedures
- Proactively communicate incident reports per established protocols. Support other PS teams as required
Risk Management and Control
- Contribute to periodic review of PS risks and controls, ensuring compliance with HSBC policies and regulatory standards. Perform continuous control monitoring, escalating issues and reporting internal/external threats
- Report an act on threat intelligence
To be successful you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or commensurate on-the-job experience and training
- Good experience in security operations, policing, or disciplined-services
- Managerial experience ideally having led rostered / multi-site teams in an operational context
- Collaborative leadership style with proven ability to build trust, align cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of shared accountability
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills under pressure. Exceptional interpersonal skills to drive cultural change across diverse teams. High self-motivation, initiative, and attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a matrixed, global corporate environment (e.g. large banks, multinationals)
- Experience in managing operational risks in a high-security environment (e.g. data-centres, treasuries, critical infrastructure). Experience in presenting projects and undertaking operational planning in a systematic way
- Evidence of security industry engagement, training or certification (e.g. ASIS, ACSG, PSP, CPP, MSyl, etc)
