Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.  

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Retail Risk Analytics Manager. 

Principal Responsibilities

This role is to support IFRS9 data and model implementation, oversight data governance compliance requirements, support business growth and risk management for HBAP retail credit according to regulatory requirements/group requirements.

In this role you will

  • Ensure successful implementation of IFRS9 models / data projeacts and credit risk systems in an accurately and timely fashion
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders on risk strategic direction, work scheduling, change requirements, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and deliverables. Ensure implemented strategies comply with group policies and standards
  • Responsible for data quality assurance for all IFRS9 data in implementation and ongoing data quality monitoring. Review, challenge, identify possible data quality issues and provide data remediation requirements. Justify the findings and present results in management forum
  • Identify, classify, define and document in the appropriate data inventory system the data definition, trusted data sources of the input data variables for critical in-scope business data elements
  • Establish change control procedures including full audit trails of processes / system changes
Requirements

To be successful you will need

  • Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in information systems, statistics, finance, risk management or business related discipline
  • Proven experience in risk data management, data quality management, data analytics in financial industry, preferable under retail credit risk area
  • Hands-on experience in tools like SAS, Python, SQL, Qlik Sense, Excel VBA, etc
  • Able to understand the business requirements and translate into implementable data solutions independently, timely and accurately
  • Knowledge and understanding in one or more of below areas preferred, such as BCBS239 PERDERR, International Financial Reporting Standard 9 (IFRS9), Basel, Loss Forecasting, etc
  • Demonstrate strong planning, analytical, communications, problem solving and project management skill. Proactive, self-motivated with a drive to deliver
