In this role you will:

• Review and challenge first line of defence operational risk assessments and mitigating controls across the Bermuda insurance entities 
• Assess the regulatory compliance risks of insurance products, services, and activities
• Support the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer in providing timely and constructive advice and challenge to first line of defence stakeholders on financial crime compliance risks
• Assist with regular Compliance and Risk reports, including Board reporting
• Support the execution of HSBC’s Risk Management Framework for proactive identification and assessment of risks for the Bermuda insurance entities  

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria: 

• Experience in the re/insurance industry in a risk management, compliance, or audit role (or similar role in financial services)
• Confidence navigating Bermuda’s regulatory frameworks, including the Insurance Code of Conduct, Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing, and similar re/insurance regulatory requirements
• Sound knowledge and understanding of risk management practices in a re/insurance context 
• Experience with resilience risks, such as technology, data, and third-party risk would be an asset
