Role Purpose:
Global Payment Solutions (GPS) is a core contributor to HSBC supporting Corporate and Institutional customers across all segments. Our payments business connects clients worldwide and enables efficient movement of monies through cash management products across payables, receivables, clearing and foreign currency, liquidity solutions and corporate credit cards. GPS is a key funding engine for the bank supporting a strong and sustainable balance sheet.
The GPS business is in a highly competitive market underpinned by complex regulatory environment. Companies are demanding smoother, faster and more cost-efficient ways to make payments, both domestically and across borders. At the same time they also want greater visibility and control across their treasury function delivered through a suite of interoperable delivery channels which can be seamlessly integrated to their own back office systems.

Building strategic relationships requires the adoption of a consultative sales focus supported by the provision of high quality and consistent implementation and customer service support locally, regionally and globally.
In this role, you will:
• Manage a client portfolio to maintain existing revenue and generate new revenue for HSBC.
• Proactively identify sales opportunities and execute them successfully from inception through to completion, including in respect of ‘new to bank’ relationships.
• Support client planning through collaboration with stakeholders across the business lines and functions.
• Act as a point of contact within GPS, coordinate with products for approvals and client management to support the product implementation.
• Collaborate across HSBC to ensure a consistent positive client experience.
• Be recognised as a GPS specialist able to display competent knowledge of relevant products and services.
• Understand current economic trends and their impact on HSBC and its clients identifying key levers to capitalise on opportunities and minimise downside exposure.
• Ensure the sales process and client activity is documented with obstacles clearly communicated to line management in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate behaviours that actively supports employee engagement and drives collaboration in an environment where individual and team contributions are encouraged.
• Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy.
• Foster a compliance culture. The term ‘compliance’ embraces all relevant laws, rules and codes with which the business must comply.
• Proactively support risk mitigation measures to protect the Bank and its customers from all regulatory, compliance and service issues.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Experience in front line roles that involves business development and establishing valuable long-term relationships is required.
• Good level of commercial awareness and proven ability in identifying and meeting customer needs through matching a broad range of products and services.
• Awareness of payment solutions and digital trends.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to create strong content, presentations and data analysis and a variety of communication styles.
• Understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by Corporate Treasurers, the Qatari corporate market, and the payments systems in operation.
• Willingness to learn and ability to work in a rapidly changing technical environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (including working collaboratively or autonomously).
• Adaptable to a multinational organisation working across many specialisms, markets and cultures. This will be reflected in the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues.
