We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.
In this role, you will:
The candidate will work on the GTS IT, collaborating with Product Owners, Transformation team, Program team, Development, and QA teams globally.
• As a Scrum Master, facilitate Agile ceremonies (Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives) for one or more GTS development teams
• Support the Product Owner in maintaining a well-groomed product backlog and help the team understand priorities and scope
• Remove impediments and blockers to ensure smooth delivery of sprints
• Foster a collaborative and self-organizing team environment
• Track and communicate sprint progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders
• Encourage continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and implementing action items
• Ensure adherence to Agile best practices and HSBC delivery standards
• Help the team estimate, plan, and deliver user stories within agreed timelines
• Coordinate with other Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and stakeholders for cross-team dependencies
• Maintain relevant metrics (e.g., burndown charts, velocity) to monitor team performance
• Support the team in identifying and mitigating risks early
• Promote transparency and open communication within the team and with stakeholders
• Assist with onboarding new team members and ensuring they understand Agile processes
• Support the team in using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Clarity for tracking and reporting
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
• Bachelor OR Master Degree in a relevant field
• Minimum of 7-10 years of IT industry experience, with at least 4 years as a Scrum Master
• Good understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience facilitating Agile ceremonies
• Familiarity with Trade workflow (Trade Loan, Guarantees, Documentary credit) and/or Asset Distribution is desirable
• Technical understanding of Java, API, Microservices, or Cloud is a plus
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple locations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus
• Experience using Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Focus on quality, attention to detail, and continuous improvement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effectively communicate to business, management, peers and staff with impact, eloquence and authenticity
• Proven focus on quality assurance and a track record of rigorous attention to detail
• A high degree of project responsibility. The ability to own projects and see it through from inception to close
• Experience working with colleagues spread across multiple global locations
• A proven track record of building strong and effective relationship with stakeholders
The successful candidate will also meet the following requirements: (Good to have Requirements)
• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
• Experience with project management tools (Clarity, MS Project)
• Exposure to Cloud Computing, Microservices, or AI/ML concepts
• Experience in banking or financial services domain
