We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Business: SecSvcs & Digital Assets Tech

Principal responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Data Product team as a Technical Product Owner and drive the Securities Services (SSv) Data Strategy
  •  Working as a Technical Lead in projects to directly guide/influence team members of data/backend/advanced analytical/cloud specialists in the architecture/solution design, low-level implementation design, development, testing, release and support of SSv Data & Digital products; share knowledge and enforce engineering best practices in the daily work
  • Providing hands-on technical expertise to identify technical challenges in various strategic projects; explore and exploit new techniques or tools to refactor; improve and simplify the capabilities of SSv Data platform  
  •  Providing people leadership to engineers; manage their performance and objectives; provide the necessary coaching to constantly improve the team's technical and soft skills and run a highly engaged and motivated team.
  • Contributing to the group wide technology initiatives like Digital Acceleration Programme, TRCB, Operation Resilience, AI/ML adoption etc.
  •  Accountable for ensuring compliance of the products and services with mandatory and regulatory requirements, control objectives in the risk and control framework
  • Accountable for operational stability, integrity, availability, service resilience, service sustainability and recovery time objectives are met for all the solutions in the SSv Data Platforms
Requirements
  • Degree in Computer Science or other related discipline and minimum 10 years' working experience in the fields related to data engineering, cloud and machine learning/AI.
  •  Proven experience of hands on people leadership skills and managing multi-cutural teams globally  
  • For Cloud & Data Engineering, proficient in the common open source technologies such as Spark, Flink, Starburst/Trino, duckdb, dbt, HBase, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Airflow, Iceberg, parquet etc.; proficient in GCP data related products, such as BigQuery, GCS, Composer, BigTable, Dataflow etc. and having knowledge of DataProc, Percolator, Spanner etc. For data governance, having knowledge and experience about the common data governance practices and products such as Dataplex, OpenMetadata, Altas etc.
  •  For application/backend development, proficient in Java and Spring ecosystem such as SpringBoot, SpringMVC, SpringCloud, Python and FastAPI, Redis, MySQL/PostgreSQL, GCP related products such as VPC, GCE, CloudRun Service/Job, GKE, PubSub etc.
  •  In depth knowledge and experience with machine learning/AI techniques and algorithms. Experience with NLP such as Rasa NLU, embedding techniques, RAG, promptings, involvement in search engine or recommendation system is a plus.
  •  Experience with DevOps with techniques such as Jenkins, Terraform, Packer etc.
