We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Control Manager - First Line Risk
Role Purpose:
The purpose of the role to support Payment colleagues within Digital Business Services (DBS) to deliver safe and secure services to all our customers, colleagues, and the Bank itself. Continually reassessing the changing environment and the impact of new technology and changes from the wider Global regulatory landscape. Payment business services operate in a highly regulated environment. Activities are performed in various areas and include account opening, closing, servicing, chargebacks, etc.
This will be achieved by Working with the Global Domain and Functional Leads to:
- Ensure that robust risk governance exists and ensuring all stakeholders have visibility of key risks and remediation activity.
- Monitoring risk appetite in line with business requirements.
- Assist in providing high quality and efficient reviews of Business Services control performance.
- Facilitating controls remediation where required.
- Raising awareness and understanding of risks, controls, and risk management.
Support Automation programme.
Continuously improving the control and monitoring of risk, including behaviours.
Main Activities:
- Drive effective design of material operational controls.
- Drive effective design, analysis and remediation of control measures.
- Identify thematic and systemic issues in the control environment.
- Identify emerging risks and potential operational risk events.
- Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across CCO Operations and Lines of Businesses.
- Develop and agree an agenda for CCO Operations that balances the priorities across all stakeholder groups (external: DBS GPS, Transformation, Technology, Product, Retail banking, wholesale, and global banking/markets to name a few; internal: CCO Operations) at an US / LAm regional; GSC entity and global level.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the Risks Associated with Payment Services supported by the group and specific reference to US / LAM
- Clear understanding of operational risk and how it is managed.
- Knowledge of large scale business processes (within banking or other industries) and the risks inherent in these processes
- Clear understanding on the end-to-end operations of a Payment journey including but not limiting to Payments Processing & Investigations, Reconciliations, Cheques processing, Client Management & Servicing, Global Billing Systems and pricing operations, Screening Operations impacting a Payments journey etc.
Experience
- Operating effectively in a complex, global organization
- Experience of managing operational risk
- Experience of designing and implementing process controls
- Experience of Payments Risk at a Regional level
- Experience in leading a Payments Portfolio in a market would be an added advantage.
