HSBC Global Research is seeking a Senior FX strategist (Director) to work in the Global FX Research team and based in London. This key role is focused on European currencies along with other major currencies. It requires strong collaboration within the research department and across the global HSBC network. Frequent analysis, writing and marketing European currencies to a global audience is expected. Excellent analytical and presentation skills is required with extensive experience in economics or financial market analysis being required. 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Conduct thorough analysis of European currencies 
•    Publish short comments and long thematic research reports outlining our views 
•    Conduct macro-modelling and quantitative analysis
•    Regularly present our views to institutional and corporate clients and internal stakeholders 
•    Interact frequently with sales, traders and other research teams and be able to do so confidence

Requirements

•    A degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance or equivalent from a top university; a postgraduate degree is advantageous
•    Excellent analytical and written skills in English. Ideally, the candidate is bilingual. 
•    Extensive work experience in an analytic role with an international financial institution, a government body, or a think tank is welcomed
•    A deep understanding of financial markets and economies, especially the UK and Eurozone. Ideally, the candidate will have strong research experience in FX and/or interest rates markets. Skills outside of FX research are also considered. 
•    Excellent presentation skills to interact effectively with both internal stakeholders and global clients
