Role Purpose

The role is responsible for structuring complex deals across the whole range of Global Trade Solutions (GTS). Key responsibilities include providing technical expertise to Front-Line Business Development Managers, assisting in the structuring of bespoke open account solutions, and ensuring a high quality customer experience.

Principal Responsibilities

Impact on the Business

  • Support the delivery of revenue to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets and maximise the extent to which client needs are met for GTRF in the region
  • Provide expert direction/advisory subject matter expertise for the completion of complex solutions and execution of a high quality service to our customers across all segments
  • Assess gaps in the current offering and feed it back to the Product Management team
  • Provide support to the business development teams on key deals and clients, liaising with product, implementation and proposition teams
  • Work closely with the Solution Implementation team to ensure solution can be implemented successfully
  • Ensure products are priced appropriately to achieve expected returns
  • Personally and through others, holds and develops predominant technical expertise in open account solutions (for instance, but not limited to, Receivables Finance, Supply Chain finance) across geographies with understanding of trends and market development.
  • Originates and shares best practice. Support specialized OA training for the sales and relationship management community

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with:
  • Internal - Risk & Compliance, Transaction Controls and Reports, Transaction Execution, Product Management, Risk distribution, Business Development, Product Governance and Business Policy
  • External - Clients, Industry bodies and Investors
  • Be the senior subject matter expert and oversee the provision of transaction specific knowledge to product/proposition management and client facing teams to ensure the correct structuring on transactions and fit for purpose solutions to clients

  • Ensure that the Solutions Structuring team is responsive to the requirements and expectations of the Global Businesses. Work closely with key colleagues across Global Businesses and Functions to promote awareness of GTRF products, propositions, strategies and initiatives
  • Maintain close liaison with country and region colleagues/ stakeholders to provide input into the strategic direction of GTRF
  • Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
  • Builds networks across all stakeholders and business areas, across all geographies and to provide expertise, cascade strategy and identify market trends.
  • Maintains a close and effective relationship with OA regional and country teams.
  • Provides analysis for the inputting into the product financial planning processes at a global level for programs and planning/forecasting cycles with regions using detailed understanding on transactions and fit for purpose solutions to clients

Operational Effectiveness & Control

  • Provides a wide level of technical product support and consultancy for deal teams, regions & countries.
  • Contribute to the continuing development, implementation and improvement of the processes, structures, capabilities, capacity and infrastructure needed to deliver agreed plans and targets, collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency
  • Applies control over transactions within GTRF policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance

 

 

Requirements

Qualifications - External

  • Minimum Masters degree or as required for the role whichever is higher. 
  • Knowledge of Trade Finance structures at a global level having experience in global multinational financial departments, supply chain, pre-export finance, and/or commodity finance.
  • Proven track record of having closed large ticket structured trade finance deals
  • Thorough understanding of Working Capital management aspects
  • Very strong financial and analytical skills with very good problem analysis ( pointing out problems, recognising important information, establishing connections)
  • Demonstrated experience working across a number of international markets in a regional capacity
  • Broad knowledge of the trends in the Open Account area as they impact Large Corporate and Global Banking segments
  • Good knowledge of Receivables Finance, Supply Chain and Open Account propositions and business models.
  • Proven track record of product management – confident in challenging business-as-usual operating models
  • Proven ability to navigate and implement inside a cross-functional and matrix organizational model
  • Strong independent contributor, who is comfortable working on multiple assignments, where the teams will often be distributed across the globe and culturally diverse
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point and use of market platforms like Bloomberg SCF functions
