The Senior Quality Assurance Manager role is a key position within the Global Professional Practices (GPP) team, reporting directly to the Regional Head of Quality Assurance (QA), Asia Pacific. They will play an integral role in the execution of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Programme (QAIP).
The role holder will engage with and maintain open communication with all Regional Heads of QA, providing insights and feedback on QA reviews as required.
The role holder will help drive GIA’s purpose, ambition and strategy, which includes setting the industry standard in how Global Internal Audit (GIA) operates, as well as furthering GIA’s digital strategy to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of assurance activities.
What you’ll do:
Work collaboratively with all Regional Heads of Quality Assurance in:
- Understanding and staying abreast of changes in the business and regulatory environment, to enable effective challenge of risk and control coverage by audit teams.
- Providing very high quality and value-added QA results.
- Contributing to the global QAIP programme.
- Delivering QA Reviews in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards and best practices and delivering assigned QA Reviews as per the QAIP.
- Actively using relevant QA techniques and approaches, achieving operational effectiveness and improving the overall timing of QA reviews.
- Assisting in the development and delivery of appropriate global training programmes to various levels of management and colleagues within GIA, to ensure knowledge and skills are appropriate across GIA.
- Establishing relationships with other QA Managers, within and across teams to deliver QA work consistently, efficiently and effectively.
- Communicating identified issues with stakeholders in a timely and proactive way, identifying root causes and assessing the possible strategic implications.
- Maintaining a culture of open communication, encouraging speak-up, curiosity and diversity of thought.
- Building effective and credible working relationships with all GIA staff.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
Essential Experience:
Banking Expertise:
- Depth and or / breadth of experience within the Banking or Financial Services sector with a broad range of relevant experience, including but not limited to wealth and premier banking, corporate and institutional banking, and supporting infrastructure.
Technical Breadth & Depth:
- Extensive expertise in audit methodologies, risk assessment and control frameworks with a strong understanding of industry regulations. Proven ability to address internal and external findings to deadlines to support objectives.
