Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The function actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, across financial and non-financial risk taxonomies. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Senior Vice President Risk Business Management Lead

  

Responsibilities:

The role is reporting to Risk Management Director with key responsibilities to manage Risk business management activities that includes financial planning, resource management, risk and controls as well as departmental strategy and planning aligning with Global and Regional Risk and Compliance COO initiatives.  The role will require collaborative work in a dynamic environment, ability to prioritize multiple conflicting demands on time and resources. The jobholder must be able to influence senior management and articulate clear justifications for business management initiatives and to get it accomplished.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience in working in business management and navigating through a matrix organizational structure
  • Equipped with financial and accounting acumen and the ability to budget, track and control expenditures
  • Ability to communicate, influence and negotiate effectively with senior stakeholders and across the HBID and HSBC Regional and Group. 
  • Ability to articulate complex and sensitive information and situations in meaningful and concise ways 
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and problem solve  
  • Experience in driving changes with flexibility in approach to deliver on requirements that may be evolving, and having an agile mindset to leading change at country and regional levels
  • Experience in planning and leading large scale communications and/or event/project planning
