We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Software Engineer Manager.

Business: Group Data Technology

Principal responsibilities

  • Lead large/medium scale of GDT data analytics data engineering team to deliver data solutions, execute data strategy in his/her appointed domains;
  • Define and drive technology / solution roadmap by working closely with architecture functions in both IT and business;
  • Maintain a clear data / solution / application asset inventory, in order to support business & technology roadmap, compliance and regulatory auditing;
  • Effectively manages stakeholder expectations
  • Responsible for people managing the team, help the team navigate thru organizational complex, effectively managing under-performers and develop talents properly
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years IT working experience
  • Ability to lead engineering teams working on complex data solutions
  • Proven experience on managing large-scale global/regional IT programme.
  • Strong planning skills in order to manage multiple in parallel IT plans
  • Possess a good understanding of HSBC IT processes.
  • Sound knowledge on data technologies and good understanding on latest technology trends
  • Excellent team management & people management skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent at spoken and written English
  • Excellent presentation skills – Preparing and delivering presentation to senior executives
  • Possess a good understanding on Agile development process.
