The position lies within our Equities Stock Lending Operations specialising in Settlements under the Market & Securities Services Operation umbrella. The job holder is responsible to support Clearing & Settlement activities in performing affirming, chasing, amending and escalating until settlement of the trade. We are a global team covering multiple balance sheets for Stock Lending product under the Markets business. We are responsible for ensuring all equity stock loan trades booked flow through the various stages of the trade life cycle and settle successfully on value date.  All settlements for this function reside within the Global Service Centre

 

The Opportunity: Asisstant Manager Operations

 

Responsible for processing post trade support activities of the Settlement Ops teams. The role holder will be working relevant shift hours i.e. US with a possibility for staggered work hours. There is no direct report for this role

What you’ll do:

·          Ensure that trades are correctly matched and settled timely in the market.

·          Ensure that risk & control framework and escalation procedures are adhered to.

·          Ensure end of day checks are actioned

·          Assist management in achieving overall business objectives.

·          Work in collaboration with the internal teams and counterparties to resolve issues

 

What you will need to succeed in the role:

·          University degree is required

·          Strong understanding of US Market for Settlements Operations

·          Ability to work in a virtual team environment with ability to support multiple functions and stakeholders

·          Attention to detail and a hands on approach to identify opportunities of process improvement

·          Strong awareness and appreciation to operations risk and control and exception management.

·         Strong communication skills with the ability to manage local and international relationships across the org.

Requirements

What additional skills will be good to have? (List out good to have skills and certifications)

·          A degree in Business or Finance would be preferred

·          A firm understanding, supported by accreditation of LEAN and 6 Sigma methodologies.

·          Strong understanding and knowledge of Equity products is preferred.

·          Understanding of Asian & European Markets for Settlements Operations

·          Able to demonstrate adequate understanding of front to back trade lifecycle process, stock lending product, operational risks, procedures and controls

·          Familiar working knowledge of associated technology

·          Understanding of Markets Operations is an added advantage

·          Able to work in a demanding and time sensitive environment

·          Hands on experience of operations processing is an advantage
