Functions and activities
- Provide timely and accurate dealing services for clients in the assigned area
- Effectively maintain various risk positions and manages within position limits, providing liquidity and trading within set limits to achieve a given revenue targetManage the firm's inventory and trading risk under supervision and as assigned in compliance with all applicable regulation within a given business area
- Manage buy and sell orders in cooperation with sales desk. Ensure correct ticket entry and order routing
- Provide consistent and accurate pricing service to sales force and clients
- Execute firm and customers' trades in accordance with desk Volcker designation and contribute to the formulation of trading strategies (where applicable)
- Adhere to local regulatory policies and trading venue rules applicable to the job holder location and the balance sheet location the trader is mandated
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the product area including but not limited to market liquidity and volatility, pricing and trading strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, industry, clients within the framework of existing regulation
- Develop close and effective working relationships within respective Regions/Countries/Functions/Global Businesses
- Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
- Act on unusual/ unacceptable activity or behaviours and escalate appropriately
- Where applicable, lead, develop and motivate the team to attract, retain and develop capacity, capability and talents with the required key relevant skills
Functional Knowledge
- The jobholder will ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation
- This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviours that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators
- The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational and conduct risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structures referred to as the 'Three Lines of Defence'. The job holder should understand their position within Three Lines of Defence and operate within operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure

- The jobholder will be able to demonstrate the certifications and qualifications required to exercise the job mandate has been obtained.
