The Opportunity:

  • The Data Delivery Analyst will be accountable for the timely delivery of  business process documentation recertifications, actioning change requests and creation of new business process intake templates. They will regularly engage with business process owners and data stakeholders to build a strong partnership to ensure support of  DAO requirements across the US entity.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities:  Key activities and decision-making areas           

This role will carry out some or all the following activities:

  • Complete change requests, recertifications and creation of new BPITs in a timely manner.
  • Analysis of unmapped assets
  • Complete monthly reporting
  • Assist in evidence review and verification of data
  • Maintain relationships with key leaders in GB/GFs
  • Operate multiple applications and workflow tools
  • Engage with GB/GF’s to ensure a working understanding and timely delivery of data. 
  • Effective and timely management and resolution of data changes, recertifications and new templates

  • Efficient coordination and communication with GB/GFs
  • Effective and professional relationships developed with relevant internal and external stakeholders to meet DAO goals and strategies

Customers / Stakeholders

  • Effectve engagement with GB/GFs, while keeping them informed on progress related to their requests
  • Interact and be an engaged representative throughout the region at various levels of management on behalf of the DAO

  • Establishment of effective and credit working relationships with GB/GFs and key stakeholder related to the US DAO.
  • Satisfaction of GB/GFs based on their requests being met in a timely manner

Major Challenges (The challenges inherent in the role that require a continual test of the role holder’s abilities)

  • Ownership and ambiguity – the role requires the navigation of the structure and roles across the US Data & Architecture Office (DAO)
  • Flexibility and adaptability – constantly changing priorities and tasks that are potentially highly restricted in nature, unpredictable and wide-ranging, complex and time-sensitive requires the simultaneous handling of a broad range of tasks
  • Stakeholder considerations – the role requires the highest quality, most succinct output that is suitable for senior executive management and external parties (including regulators) at all times, regardless of pressures
  • Sensitivity and trust – engendering a true sense of urgency, pace, community, and collaboration across indirectly managed areas across the DAO community
  • The diverse responsibility of the role and the number of jurisdictions with which the U.S. operates requires the role holder to be highly efficient and able to deal with a high volume of, both highly confidential and commercially sensitive information, with discretion
  • Operating, influencing, and communicating effectively with all stakeholders and other colleagues both inside and outside the various functions
  • Thinking and acting independently, often within tight timeframes, formulating sound advice or actions which have clear direction and are commercially and operationally acceptable

Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)

  • The role holder needs to perform a proactive, collaborative role as the intermediate between external stakeholders and the US DAO
  • HSBC is going through an unprecedented period of change in its move to a sustainable globally led and connected organization.  There is increasing external scrutiny and pressure on the Financial Services industry from governments, regulators, media, investors, and brokers.  The role holder needs to understand the impact of all these changes on the US DAO and support the lead accordingly
  • The role holder will be required to interact with many internal and external parties at the highest level of management and therefore needs an outstanding level of professionalism and gravitas

The role holder should understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations, and procedures that apply to the conduct within US DAO

Requirements

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in operations delivery and delivery of data analytics
  • Experience with data management and ability to oversee the data delivery functions and processes
  • Ability to coordinate across conflicting requests and prioritize competing demands
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good knowledge of the US DAO, and the broader organization, and its strategy, internal policies, and procedures is preferable
  • Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization
  • Necessity to make robust/tough decisions that may be contrary to others’ wishes and ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Strong leadership and program management ability, developing and motivating cross-functional employees
  • Ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change-oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain business and project deadlines
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
