We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Vice President, Investment Services . 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Reporting into Head of Investment Services, co-lead in managing and overseeing in the area of Investment Services which cover Insurance General Accounts (GA) and Investment Linked Products (ILP)
  • Ensure compliance to the investment mandate and other regulations, and the adoption and implementation of sound internal controls that are in line with HSBC standards

Key Responsibilities

  • Anchor for General Account investment support including trade activities, collateral management oversight, inter-fund transfer activities and fee administration
  • Prepare and review documents covering multiple asset classes such as REITS, Private Equity, Infrastructure Debt, etc
  • Prepare and review portfolio account opening, fund manager transition and new fund manager onboarding
  • Fixed deposit support
  • Manage KYC and AML review as and when required
  • Agreements review and negotiation such as custodian-related and operating memorandum, ISDA and CSA
  • Oversee and prepare daily cash management and ensure sufficient funding and float
  • Support full lifecycle of ILP sub-funds’ coverage but not limited to trade order placements, settlements, NAV valuations and reconciliations
  • Ensure timely submission of internal, external and regulatory reports
  • Involve in both internal and external audit
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with key stakeholders including the CIO, Investment team, product fund team, external fund managers, and other affiliated companies such as HSBC Asset Management
  • Mentor and coach staff on day-to-day matters

Business and Project Management

  • Lead and/or support major projects or business initiatives that are of relation to Investment Services and to work closely with both Group Insurance Investment Services and Project teams
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Candidate with 12 to 15 years’ solid experience in investment middle and back-office function preferably within Insurance or Asset Management industry
  • Educational qualification: University graduate. Additional professional qualification in Finance Accounting or Investment will be viewed favourably
  • Good knowledge in local regulations such as Monetary Authority of Singapore Notice 307 and Securities and Futures Act
  • Good understanding in investment instruments such as equities, fixed income, alternative investments and derivatives
  • Ability to work under pressure as well as tight deadline
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload while working in an agile manner
  • Prepared to be hands-on and deliver high quality output
  • Comfortable and able to make sound decisions in conflicting environment
  • Strong risk and control mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholders’ management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work under minimal supervision and deliver quality output
