Our Vice President or Senior Associate will have relevant experience and skills to meaningfully contribute to the development and expansion of long-term commercial relationships with clients in the US Healthcare Sector and their global locations.   At HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking, we have developed partnerships with the largest, most innovative and most international healthcare companies in the world. If selected, you will be a key contributor in all aspects of our growth strategy in a strategically aligned and important sector within HSBC’s Corporate and Institutional Banking team.

As our Vice President/Senior Associate, US Healthcare Coverage - Corporate and Institutional Banking you will:

  • Be responsible for deepening client relationships and growing revenues derived from DCM, Credit & Lending, Acquisition Finance, Asset Finance, Structured Equities, Interest Rate & Equity Derivatives, FX), Transaction Services – Cash & Liquidity Management, Securities & Trust Services, Global Trade & Receivables Finance, and investment management solutions through HSBC Asset Management

  • Successfully defend and service existing business, as well as to originate new value-added transactions for assigned clients. We are looking for you to help us “uptier” access and deepen our strategic dialogue with key decision makers at our clients

  • Be responsible for all aspects of the relationship management function for their coverage portfolio—including oversight of credit, KYC and/or internal projects and initiatives, as they arise

  • As one of two Vice Presidents or Senior Associates on the healthcare team, you will be a coach to the junior associates and analysts and provide day to day guidance and training in support of their performance and development

  • Create high quality industry content for our clients and other colleagues within HSBC.  

    For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $170,000.00 and $190,000.00

    The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Requirements

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Track record of managing clients and new business origination skills

  • Desire to coach and mentor junior colleagues including day to day oversight

  • Ability to create strong relationships with senior and junior client contacts

  • Interest in the healthcare sub-sectors: importantly, pharma and bio-pharma, equipment, life sciences, distribution and healthcare technology

  • Significant experience with GAAP / Statutory financial statements, company valuations, capital structure / regulatory requirements, debt / FSR ratings, funding / capital markets and investments

  • Knowledge of credit and letter of credit agreements, ISDA / CSA documentation, risk management and risk mitigation strategies

  • Product expertise in Global Markets (FX, Rates, Equity Derivatives, DCM, Structured Equity, Loan Markets, Asset Management, Trade Finance and Transaction Services (cash management, trust, custody and securities services)

  • Proven ability to win mandates across a full range of products

  • Ability to manage a portfolio of clients on a global basis

  • FINRA Series 79, 63 and 7 licenses (or to be obtained)
