Your career opportunity
Dev-Ops Engineer job is responsible for providing engineering expertise in an engineering area which may include, but is not limited to, security engineering, cloud engineering, and developer experience engineering.
They may be responsible for supporting platforms specific to a HSBC business area that requires specialist Technology engineering expertise; provide subject matter expertise to one or more technology teams on the area of their Technology engineering specialism.

What you’ll do
• Work on internal tooling used by CTO• Write and maintain high-quality code in DevOps languages (e.g., Ansible, Python, Terraform)• Work with hybrid cloud and public cloud.• Be reasonable for setting service SLA / SLO targets.• Participate in on-call rotations or production support as needed.• Contribute to internal documentation, standards, and best practices for CI/CD and DevOps tooling.• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment processes whilst continuously improving current CTO practices, tools, and systems to support our global engineering community.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
• Relevant work experience GCP Cloud + k8s + Terraform & Ansible• Deep Knowledge and hands on experience of running Kubernetes.• Able to act as a subject matter expert to others on Ansible and help debug complex playbooks.• Knowledge of a CI/CD tool such as Jenkins.• Very good understanding of architecture and design patterns used for cloud services, strong hands-on working experience with terraform.• Exposure / Knowledge of an enterprise DevOps environment.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken) – comfortable with detail.• Previous experience working in a financial services or other large, regulated enterprise business.
