Within Treasury, Asset Liability and Capital Management (ALCM) is responsible for managing the bank’s balance sheet across businesses interfacing with regulators and senior business stakeholders to ensure the bank remains liquid, well capitalised and profitable.

What you’ll do:
The role supports various activities to achieve the goals and objectives of Capital Management as part of HBCE’s Treasury/ALCM.
This position is in charge of capital forecasting activities, leverage exposures monitoring and forecasting, and specifically includes :
- Capital forecasting, budgeting, stress testing, recovery and resolution planning
- Balance sheet, Leverage exposures monitoring and forecasting
- Support on provision of capital MI
- Performance metrics basis of preparation and monitoring
- Identification of capital efficiencies
- RWA & Leverage Working Group Secretariat
- Close engagement with HBCE Finance and Risk teams
- Close engagement with HBEU Capital Management team
- Collaborate with the broader HBCE Capital team on other Capital related processes such as ICAAP and provide ad-hoc support to the HBCE Treasury team on other on-going projects
- Builds a network and develops strong working relationships with HSBC staff at all levels and across regions
- Prepare responses to the ECB or other European regulators’ queries
What you will need to succeed in the role:
We are looking for an individual who has knowledge of capital requirements , accounting/financial reporting, or has experience in analytics within financial services.
Qualifications :
- Qualified ACA /CA/ Management Accountant / MBA / CFA with experience in Finance, Treasury, Corporate Finance and Banking. Significant operational experience (e.g., 6-8+ years) within Treasury/Capital Planning or Financial Reporting will be advantageous.
Experience:
- Ability to read, digest and understand the impact of upcoming capital regulations
- Good knowledge of the HSBC Group and its operating policies and processes
- Skilled in handling and controlling a large amount of data
- Proactively looks for methods to simplify processes
- Advanced MS Office proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing responsibilities within required timeframes and standards
- Ability to work under pressure
- Fluent in English
