GCOO - Asia & Middle East COO

Our GCOO organisation is critical for HSBC. This team partners closely with business teams to drive simplification and deliver exceptional customer outcomes in Asia and the Middle East region which covers 26 markets, 600+ offices and branches, and more than 140,000 employees. By strengthening our control environment and enhancing risk management, we drive operational excellence and enable the bank to deliver focused and sustainable growth in this super-region.

 

 

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

 

In this role, you will: 

Impact on the Business / Function

·    Provide consultancy to business partners and project teams, suggest prioritization to ensure project objectives of quality, timeliness and commercial goals be met.

·   Identify production problems and implement solutions, recommending application of technology, deploying robust business and operation design.

·      Assist in the set-up of risk control framework and implementing control methods in daily operation.

 

Customers / Stakeholders

·       Foster strong relationships, adopting a joined up approach, to execute  change at pace and with minimum conflict

·     Maintain the robustness of business processes and leverage on partnership with IT to ensure service availability and accessibility by customers.

·       Interact with business partners, suppliers etc. to identify and communicate , progress, dependencies, risks and issues

 

Leadership & Teamwork

·       Upkeep a high performance culture through strong work relationship

·       Collaborate with project teams to ensure commonality and consistency of solutions

·       Understand and align actions with the Group strategies and HOST objectives

·     Support the HSBC values.

·       Ensure effective project management processes and propose improvements/changes as required

·   Observe Group Compliance Policy to ensure operational risks are adequately identified, assessed, mitigated and controlled during the course of project implementation

·       Comply with external regulatory requirements, internal control standards and group compliance policy

·       Implement timely recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators. 

 

Requisitos

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

Knowledge

 

Solid knowledge of mortgage products and services and procedures

 

Good understanding of project life cycle

 

Awareness of HSBC project management tools and best practice techniques

 

Need to maintain knowledge of IT hardware, software, operations and networks

 

Experience

 

Proven project management skills

 

Effective communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills

 

Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems

 

Experience of process review and identifying improvement opportunities

 

Good planning skills and strong adaptability to cater for dynamic business needs
