The Opportunity:

  • Work with stakeholders across management companies (mancos) in UK, Luxembourg, Guernsey, France, Hong Kong, Singapore and US.
  • Provide support and oversight for activities including third-party oversight, fund admin services and transfer agency as a consistent global operating model is deployed.
  • Work with onshore teams incl legal, compliance, risk, CCO and operations to ensure that the fund ranges comply with regulatory requirements, due diligence policies and internal rules and procedures.
  • Support the transition of activities from onshore to offshore and setting up new activities and assurance processes offshore.
  • Ongoing operational activities to service the funds and manage day to day operational delivery via the service providers.
  • Demonstrate willingness to run with the activities and focus on streamlining the processes and ensure there is consistency in activities performed for all the mancos.
  • Expected to be fungible and interested in learning activities across the global fund ranges.

What you’ll do:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following –

Assist in the following area:

  • Daily oversight of fund operations/services including activities delegated to service providers.
  • Administration, investigation and resolution of daily Transfer Agent, Administrator and Custodian queries as well as managing queries from the Mancos and onshore teams
  • Work closely with TA, Administrator and Custodian to ensure timely and accurate processing and settlement of transactions in accordance with the Service Level Agreements.
  • Review fund operating expenses, third party invoices and investor rebates and ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Assist in developing measures to align Manco services to meet future client, regulatory and business needs.
  • Assist in implementation of operational best practices and HSBC Global Standards.
  • Report to management on service level achievements and key performance indicators on a routine basis including input into monthly and quarterly reports to Management forums as necessary.
  • Develop and improve appropriate key controls for each process within the framework of procedures.
  • Develop and maintain governance oversight over all operational aspects of fund administration.;
  • Assist in monitoring of service providers and maintain a robust vendor management program.
  • Have a risk management mind-set - monitor and enhance the controls of delegated and outsourced service provider activities – be involved in client service level reviews, setting up/monitoring KPI/SLAs, reporting on incident review.
  • Assist Mancos and regulated staff in their responsibility for complying with all relevant regulations, HSBC Group policies and other regulatory requirements in relation to oversight obligations.
  • Assist with due diligence reviews of outsourced service providers in compliance with:
  • Regulatory outsourcing guidance requirements and HSBC Outsourcing and Vendor Management Policy.
  • The terms of services agreements.
  • To review, maintain and update procedures to ensure they reflect current practices in line with HSBC Policy and Standards.
  • To take responsibility for the collection and onward reporting of reports and management information from service providers, including following up on action points as required.
  • Manage, in conjunction with Line Manager, operational changes to product features, including project definition and management.

Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role: 

  • Ideal candidate would have strong understanding of asset management business and prior experience in providing services to manage funds.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience in co-ordinating activities with Mancos / Fund boards and hands-on experience in managing rebates, distributor fees, third-party service providers, cost etc.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the asset management industry.

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Strong technical knowledge about various products and strategies.
  • Experience working in different functions to support funds administration.
  • Knowledge of different asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives).
  • Global stakeholder management experience and analytical thinking.
  • CA/CFA/ACCA certification would be beneficial.
