  • Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Business Risk is responsible for the oversight and mitigation of Financial and Non-Financial Risks in the First Line of Defence for CIB. This role will focus on the ongoing roll out (into 2026) and lifecycle refresh management to support meeting Operational Resilience expectations for CIB (in this role inclusive both Wholesale and MSS), working closely with the entity and CIB management. 
  • Working with Business areas, the team is responsible for providing specialist risk support including risk identification and assessment of Business Risks as part of the activities and process within the lines of business.
  • The Resilience Risk Manager will be responsible allocated activities in both initial roll out and ongoing refresh of activities needed to support CIB Important Business Services (IBS) in the EU (covering both DORA scope as well as Switzerland and Bermuda). Contributing to HBCE / HBEU delivery of the Operational Resilience framework / lifecycle for CIB (including MSS). Initially with a focus on DORA (EU) and the FINMA (Switzerland) regulatory deliverables supporting the subject matter experts in BSO teams and local CIB management. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies, and ensuring ongoing refresh management is delivered on time and within scope.

  • The job holder high degree of autonomy to perform the responsibilities independently.   He/she will operate under guidance from senior management / senior colleagues across CIB Business Risk, working closely with (but often independently from) the Senior Manager in CIB BR Europe (who will also be line manager). 
    Key responsibility will be:
  • Robust Business Analysis working with the business to conceptualize solutions/operating models
  • Change Adoption activities to further embed the change seamlessly, drive benefit realization and support ongoing improvement opportunity to annual lifecycle delivery. 
  • Plan and play key role in executing Operational Resilience framework refresh activity to the markets in scope, including where enhancements are needed to previous assessments (or to adapt for local regulations). 
  • Delivering allocated activities supporting CIB BR across HBEU / HBCE. 
    What you’ll do:
    Program and Project management:
  • Proactively Lead and manage delivery of Operational Resilience (including DORA) framework or refresh within Europe for CIB. 
    Plan, manage and adapt (as needed) refresh lifecycle activities to support Operational Resilience framework delivery. Working closely with Product / BSO / Programme resource and other subject matter experts. 
  • Collaborate and builds positive stakeholder relationships providing regular updates on progress, timely escalations utilizing support network in CIB BR team / entities. 
    Impact on the Business / Function / Stakeholders
  • Support Senior Manager CIB BR Europe, and deputize as appropriate to lead CIB BR support for HBEU / HBCE delivery of the Operational Resilience framework. 
  • Facilitate regular updates, including clear risks, and issue updates to stakeholders (including regional and entity leads).
  • Prepare and present project reports, including status reports and risk assessments.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend changes to enhance risk management practices.
  • Initial focus on DORA (EU) and the FINMA (Switzerland) regulatory deliverables supporting the subject matter experts in BSO teams and local CIB management.
    Leadership & Teamwork 
  • Collaborate with control and issue owners, 2LOD and 3LOD members in CIB / MSS teams to achieve objectives on a regional / global level, and directly supporting entities / regional teams in their Operational Resilience delivery or refresh. 
  • Support achievement of the HSBC vision, values, goals and culture in personal behaviour, actions and decision making
  • Contribute towards a strong compliance and operational risk culture across CIB.
    Operational Effectiveness & Control 
  • Contribution towards upholding and enhancing Business Risk culture across the role’s CIB / MSS jurisdiction
  • Maintain strict internal control and adhere to information barriers. 
Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Business analysis requirements gathering and design techniques
  • Experience in designing solutions or change interventions and overseeing change management activities which can include diverse tasks, from timeline planning to stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in planning, preparation and execution, strong coordination and facilitation skills with Business / functional stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to prepare and run effective workshops for regional / function / business users
  • Ability to advise stakeholders regarding process improvement initiatives. Ability to present complex solutions in clear and concise language
  • Strong aptitude with Data Analysis and Interpretation skills - the ability to critically evaluate information gathered across multiple sources, using multiple analysis techniques, reconcile variances and recommend proposals to senior and key stakeholders. 
    What additional skills will be good to have?
  • PMP certification or training desirable
  • Product knowledge of CIB product area(s) Payments (GPS) or Wholesale Lending (C&L) would be beneficial. 
  • Beneficial to have an understanding of Operational Reslience (UK / global), DORA (EU), FINMA ‘Op Res & Risk’ (Switzerland) – as key focus areas of the role – or Critical Operations (HK) as a comparible regulatory regime.
