The team you’ll work with:

HSBC Innovation Banking’s Warehouse Lending (“WHL”) team provides creative financing solutions across a diverse spectrum of asset classes. Our core products enable us to finance client assets from origination through to securitization.

The Portfolio Management (“PM”) function is a specialist sub-team within WHL that supports the growth of HSBC Innovation Banking’s WHL practice in EMEA.

The value you’ll add:

We are looking for energised, numerate and a communicative candidate who can multitask and prioritise in a varied day to-day working environment. A PM Associate in WHL supports deal qualification, transaction execution, and manages the transaction booking, funding and repayment, and portfolio review processes post-close. The role is internal and client facing; the PM team take the lead in liaising between WHL and internal operations, and also liaise with clients on specific aspects of the transactions pre and post execution. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, non-hierarchical and growing team with huge scope in terms of career advancement and continual personal development.

What you can expect to be doing:

Support all aspects of portfolio management, including analysing amendment and waiver requests, assisting with monitoring credit approval renewals, booking changes to existing transactions and responding to internal and external audits.

Work with operations, deal team and clients to ensure draws, payments, and monthly reporting on facilities are done in an accurate and timely fashion.

Assist in the analysis and presentation of periodic portfolio reviews.

Assist with developing and implementing policies and operating procedures, which involves interacting with various internal parties including operations, process enablement, business risk and senior credit officers, among others.

For existing deals, support deal leads in the internal credit process conducting analysis and research, preparing credit memorandums, and managing communications with internal stakeholders.

Consistent monitoring of financial and asset level reporting across a range of asset classes, company life stages and geographies. Using all materials available, such as (but not limited to): company provided reporting, any portfolio software implemented, bank accounts and internal systems and tools. 

Requisitos

Understanding of effective portfolio management

Experience in tech banking, investment banking, capital markets and/or corporate finance

Quantitative Bachelor’s degree / CFA or equivalent education, or equivalent work experience specific to this role 

A keen interest in the technology sector and venture capital / private equity transactions 

Experience working with early-stage Fintech companies and startups is a positive
