In this role, you will: 

• Contribute towards Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Azure Databricks, PySpark.

• Drive/support in Implementing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse for orchestration.

• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and Python-based data transformation logic.

• Work with version control systems (GitHub, Azure DevOps) to manage code and deployment processes.

• Automate deployment of data pipelines using CI/CD practices in Azure DevOps.

• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with best practices.

• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in data pipelines.

• Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards (E.g. Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency) – Work on designing & Implementing process and solutions for monitoring, telemetry and observability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to work on refining the data requirements.

• Contribute to creating technical plans to manage implementation and guide teams.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

3-4+ years of experience in data engineering, working with Azure Databricks, PySpark, and SQL.

• Proficiency in Python for data processing and transformation.

• Strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF) for building and managing ETL processes.

• Familiarity with GitHub and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD automation.

• Good understanding of data modelling, warehousing, and performance optimization.

• Knowledge of Management of End user devices by systems such as MECM, Asset Management systems, Software Application catalogue / App Store life cycle management.

• Ability to work in an agile environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Experience with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture.

• Hands-on experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Understanding of machine learning workflows in a data engineering context.

• In-depth knowledge of fundamental data warehousing concepts such as entity relational modelling, dimensional modelling, star and snowflake schemas, Data marts.

• Experience in handling technical issue in Data models, Data engineering logic document and Power BI reports.

• Experience of having worked in an infrastructure critical environment for a large organization like HSBC or part of global teams in a complex and changing technical environment would be advantage.

• Strong interpersonal skills – ability to influence, drive teams to deliver, good judgement, assertiveness, high level of communication skills (both verbal & written) for variety of audience, ability to describe complex technical scenarios in concise manner, ability to collaborate directly with a variety of stakeholder.

• Ability to work across geographies and time zones with a variety of teams.

• Strong sense of ownership & urgency, ability to prioritize, attention to detail, flexibility, sense of vigilance & adherence to all compliance procedures & policies
