The Opportunity:

  • The Operations and Streamlining team act as a key enabler for Global WPB Business Financial Crime & Regulatory Risk Management team, and play a fundamental role in the identification, management and improvement of CDD and Financial Crime Risks mitigation processes across WPB. The purpose of the role is to support the team during its oversight of WPB Risk Operations processes, collate and access data relating to risk operations and perform analysis to identify opportunities for improvement within the banks control environment and to perform proactive analysis to identify trends to support risk management initiatives.

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Support team lead to ensure Risk Operations are given oversight and are provided support to undertake the required quality and detail on a timely basis.
  • Ensure data analytics are completed accurately to a high standard and delivered within the agreed times for key stakeholders highlighting metrics and requirements which will facilitate decision making.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to quantify and contextualize analysis, to enable management to make informed decisions and manager risks within appetite.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement with focus on articulating objectives related risk operations and effective financial crime risk management
  • Demonstrates effective problem solving and investigative skills in risk operations processes updates
  • Take a dynamic approach to data analysis when extracting data from HSBC’s CDD systems for the purpose of analytics.

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Provide guidance to the teams on processes and policies to ensure adherence to regulatory policies.
  • Proactively sharing own experiences and best practices with other Team members and sites to create a process of excellence and enhance productivity and the quality within Risk Operations.
  • Work effectively with larger global team & other stakeholders – who may have differing priorities and work pace – using strong negotiation skills and openness to suggestions.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and changes.
Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

  • Understanding of the AML, KYC risk-based approach.
  • Excellent communications skills (written/verbal) and relationship and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and provide resolutions within desired timelines.
  • Self-motivated and should be able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in respect of a wide variety of document types with the ability to articulate complex findings in simplified language for a variety of stakeholders is essential.
  • Proficiency in using industry standards analytical tools such as QlikView/Qlik Sense will be considered and an advantage.
  • Capability to quickly learn new things, new jurisdiction policies and guidance, new policy, procedure
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with high degree of accuracy.
