Enterprise Technology is the Technology organisation responsible for the design, build and ongoing maintenance of the systems owned by the Group Functions (Risk, Compliance, Finance, Core Banking, Corporate Functions and Deputy COO). The organisation consists of over 8,000 people working in collaboration across 14 countries, to support over 3,000 applications.
Enterprise Technology is aligned to the Financial Control Value Stream within the VSATT Regulatory Technology. The team supports all Regulatory activity such as the Basel 3 implementation. We are responsible for the end-to-end delivery, maintenance, innovation and support of all Finance driven systems. This opportunity comes at an exciting time as we continue to build the team and work closely with our Finance Change colleagues to implement an ambitious technology strategy.
The Basel 3 IT Agile Lead operates in a Hybrid way, delivering projects in both an Agile Methodology and a Waterfall methodology, dependent upon the project needs. The role holder will need to independently manage 1 or more projects at any given time and will need to manage all aspects of project delivery. Basel 3 is a very specialised area within HSBC so the role requires someone who can work with very senior stakeholders on a day-to-day basis and someone who can manage these stakeholders effectively to ensure we deliver for the Finance business in a collaborative and seamless way.
The position holder will to be able to lead the POD / Project team and motivate / guide / support them. Sometimes this will be as a servant leader as per the Agile methodology, sometimes it will require very strong hands-on project management skills. You must be very adaptable for this hybrid role.
This role reports into the IT Basel 3 Programme IT Lead and the position holder will be expected to line into the central programme management and Agile functions to ensure we are following the best practices available and meeting all required standards.
In this role you will:
· Facilitate the team to self-organize, enabling continuous improvement of activities, aligned to business needs.
· Enable Agile delivery, including facilitating stand ups / retrospectives, reviews and planning events.
· Constantly working with the Product Owner to re-prioritise the backlog.
· Arranging knowledge sharing sessions and product demonstrations to our customers.
· Manage Project Plans, working with senior business and change stakeholders.
· Managing RAID logs / items.
· Clarity & Budgetary Management, ensuring all expected Project Management standards are achieved.
· Stakeholder Management with the ability to deal with stakeholders from GCB2 downwards
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
· Experience in Finance is essential.
· Proven experience working on Basel 3 is an essential.
· Must have experience with Jira and Confluence.
· Experience with Cost management of Budgets over £3million
· Previous/Current Team Lead experience
· Has experience of Agile and Waterfall methodologies and can deliver projects via both methodologies.
· Able to manage multiple projects concurrently,
· Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentational skills.
· Keen attention to detail, and demonstrable ownership of problems and tasks.
