Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management.

The WPB Business Management team provides the UK WPB Operating Committee with dedicated, forward thinking, business activity support and strategic execution management. Driving, supporting and monitoring key initiatives across UK WPB; telling the story of these to the HSBC UK Operating Committee and UK Board; and leading operational activities for UK WPB including cost and business performance management, communication and other critical initiatives.

The Senior Business Manager will form part of the UK WPB Business Management team. The team defines the overarching UK WPB strategy and constructively challenges the business with critical thinking and innovative insight to improve the way we do business and deliver on our commitments.

The Senior Business Manager will work within the Business Management team to:

•    Provide consistent and detailed strategic narrative across UK WPB
•    Lead the strategic execution for UK WPB across customer, product, operations and people
•    Support and enable UK WPB’s response to strategic challenges and get buy-in to these from the Executive Committee
•    Define, challenge and provide oversight on commercial ambitions to deliver our strategy

The role will have visibility across the UK WPB business and the opportunity to work directly with UK WPB Executive Committee members.

In this role you will:

•    Undertake business performance analysis across customer, products, operations and people to deliver the UK WPB strategy
•    Provide recommendations on the future WPB strategy bringing a simple customer centric and creative approach that grows the business
•    Support engagement with external consultancies to bring innovation and drive challenge for UK WPB business areas
•    Lead and support required deep dives into strategic challenges for UK WPB engaging with WPB leadership
•    Provide strategic risk management and horizon scanning (internal and external) to identify insights and emerging issues that may impact UK WPB’s strategy or performance
•    Provide cohesive strategic and business input to papers for key UK WPB and other Executive governance forums

Requisitos

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

•    Strong leadership and planning skills with a strong demonstrable commercial, strategic awareness
•    Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Retail Banking/Wealth
•    Experience in taking a data led approach to business performance management and strategic execution, coupled with the ability to deal with and professionally communicate complex commercial information and challenges by creating business presentations with supporting and compelling narrative
•    Exceptional stakeholder management skills, able to develop and foster strong relationships with senior leaders, stakeholders and business sponsors across the organisation, interacting with a high degree of confidenc
•    A highly organised approach with expert planning and time management, particularly on meeting urgent deadlines and adhering to short turnaround time.

This is a hybrid role, to be based in in Birmingham 3 days a week.
