The Opportunity:

• Opportunity of manage an IT service end-to-end by adopting platform engineering model.
• Opportunity of support internal cloud, like HSBC Internal Cloud (HIC, IAAS+ platform) and The Internal Kubernetes Platform (IKP, CAAS platform).
• Migrating existing solution to cloud platform.

What you’ll do:

• Provide end-to-end platform engineering and lifecycle management on Internal Kubernetes Platform.
• Build tools and automation to manage platform infrastructure and services lifecycle.
• Improve reliability, quality, and time to upgrade cluster and service versions.
• Measure and optimize system performance and resource utilization, and plan for future capacity.
• Build dashboards and visualizations to users for transparency of platform status.
• Define system alerts and automate responses where possible.
• Provide operational support and engineering for multiple software development teams.
• Gather and analyze metrics from cluster components and services to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
• Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
• Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
• Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives.

• Administrative Knowledge with practical hands-on of container and Kubernetes platforms engineering and management.
• Core competencies: Linux OS, Container, Kubernetes and K8S native system like Istio, engineering skillset to manage infrastructure as code.
• Ability to script in one or more shell languages, such as Bash or PowerShell.
• Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python or Golang.
• Experience with infrastructure support and operation automation following software lifecycle practice.
• A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
• Accept flexible working hour.
• Good written and reading in English.

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Experience with infrastructure and virtualization technology.
• Experience working/partnering with Vendors as early adopters.
• Experience working within an agile environment. 

Candidate with less relevant experience or skills may be offered a lower Global Career Band than stated above.
