Technology teams in the UK work closely with our global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. They also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank. Our multi-disciplined teams include DevOps Engineers, IT Architects, Front and Back End Developers, Infrastructure specialists, Cyber experts, as well as Project and Programme managers.

 

The Microsoft 365 Governance Lead is responsible for the Governance and Compliance framework across multiple services within End User Services, on the Global Collaboration and mobile Platform. The jobholder will facilitate the delivery and maintenance of high-quality services to end users across all countries and regions where HSBC operates, by ensuring that the appropriate Governance elements are applied as well as guaranteeing that we remain compliant with strict regulations on each market such as GDPR, Shrems II, FINRA, FATCA, SEBI (amongst others).

The role will require a focus on the control framework, ensuring day-to-day control activities are completed to a high standard, alongside strategic reviews of ongoing control management and execution protocols.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide leadership on all elements of Services Governance including Strategic vendor management, contract negotiations, capacity management, stress exit plans, DRP and BCP, Technical Regulatory Compliance, Data Privacy, and Data hosting.
  • Maintain Audit trails for the safe operation of Services across every HSBC entity in the 62+ markets where we operate, providing evidence to both internal and external auditors that our services adhere to the strictest internal standards and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate Risks and Issues records as well as all related management actions and mitigation plans, for all products and services we offer (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Office, Purview, etc).
  • Spearhead the response to regulatory demands Globally, by working closely with our compliance and non-financial risk teams as well as directly with external regulatory bodies and 3rd party partners where appropriate.
  • Support Architects and technical teams in the design of sustainable solutions, ensuring that they are compliant with current regulations but that are also scalable and future proof.
  • Maintain an agile mind-set by adopting the practices and processes identified as being required for our new pods, leveraging agile delivery methods, associated frameworks (e.g., Lean) and Bank tools (e.g., JIRA) to do this
  • Understand and follow the IT and CTO strategies, as well as the Product Management direction and Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the team, focusing on automation, process improvement, how technology is best leveraged and technology shift opportunities

 

Requisitos

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
 

  • Excellent understanding of Cloud, Data residency & Data Privacy regulations, such as those governed under FINRA / WORM / HKMA / SEBI / GDPR / SHREMS II / Etc.
  • Strong background of Data Privacy and Data Residency requirements for Cloud-based services (preferably SaaS).
  • Strong background in controls risk and regulatory framework wihtin Finicial Services
  • Experience of working as part of a Compliance, Audit, Operations OR regulatory team is a plus.
  • Exceptional Interpersonal skills – demonstrate good judgement and a good level of written communication.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical issues concisely to non-technical audiences at all levels (from Junior to C-Suite).
  • Good knowledge of technical components of the the Windows Environment such as Active Directory, Group Policies, as well as Microsoft Office or Office 365 products.
  • Knowledge and experience of using agile delivery methods and tools to implement both tactical and strategic changes is desired.
  • Commercially astute, ability to balance and assess risk vs. reward, maximising cost effectiveness and profitability for functions and/or business lines
