The Opportunity:

This position will work for one of team under GBPW business on Core Banking Wealth platform and it is responsible for global projects to support settlement and custodian service for retail customers in HSBC which contain securities product transaction settlement, corporate action, fee and charge calculation etc. The applications are back-end systems which are built on iSeries platform and AWS Cloud

What you’ll do:

•    Lead a development team and play as a supervisory and project management role for the whole project cycle.
•    Work closely with business/project partner to analyze business requirements and provide viable technical solutions. Design and develop IT solutions according to HSBC standards/best practices and ensure a high quality standard of deliverables.
•    Prepare documentation and provide support on compliance and audit checking.
•    Provide system support of business applications and resolve problems that may occur during business hours and non-business hours. Ensuring the service availability according to the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
•    Provide 3rd line support on existing IT solutions. Participating in service recovery with support team in case needed.
•    Participate actively in Agile and Devops, explore and promote tools which could improve team efficiency and quality.

•    A university graduate with degree in computer science or a related discipline.
•    IT working experience on development or application support, preferably in an enterprise or a global environment. Development experience in ILE RPG and iSeries experience. Knowledge on iSeries Modernization Technology (e.g. SQLRPG, free format, API etc) 
•    Strong system and business analysis skills with excellent knowledge of project life cycle and application development process. Strong problem solving skills, able to work independently and also within a global team.
•    Excellent command of written and spoken English, with strong communication skills to work with partners globally. Sound knowledge on securities custody or core banking would be an advantage. Basic level of understanding in investment banking and wealth management.
•    Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills. Flexible and adaptable in accommodating change of requirement and willing to take new responsibilities when necessary. Willing to take shift work and odd hours support responsibility.
•    Ability to work under stress and deliver in a responsive manner.
•    Leading role in a middle to large sizing project or experience as key participant for large to flagship sizing project.

What additional skills will be good to have? 

•    Experience of designing Cloud solutions using a combination of cloud native, 3rd party and on premise technologies.
•    Good understanding of the challenges and constraints of migrating from existing systems and platforms to Cloud based technologies.
•    Experience in deployment & configuration management tools like CargoGuard, Ansible.
•    Prior experience in Investment and Financial product knowledge is an advantage.
