Hang Seng Indexes Company Limited (HSIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hang Seng Bank(Member HSBC Group), is the leading index provider for the Hong Kong and mainland China markets. We calculate the internationally recognised Hang Seng Index (HSI) and Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (HSCEI) and continue to broaden our index range to meet a wide spectrum of investor demand for different index investment solutions. At present, we compile over 1,000 real-time and daily indexes covering both Hong Kong and mainland China.

To support the company business, we are currently seeking high calibre professionals to join our Technology team as Senior Consultant Specialist.

The Opportunity: 

When you are in this position, you will have more opportunities to get experience on extra high resilience system design, Java development, GCP, Cloud knowledge and DevSecOps.

And you can also work close with business within a project and get experience on how to manage a project and lead a team.    

What you’ll do:    

• Work closely with teams, product owners, BA and other stakeholders to ensure we deliver a high quality/high resilience software product.
• Collaborate with project team and product owners to contribute to product and project strategy, code standards, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering.
• Provide on-going support and maintenance for system enhancement to support strategic business growth and operation efficiency initiative in business areas.
• Design, develop, and optimize Java-based applications for scalability and performance.
• Architect and maintain Java-based applications with focus on reliability, security and it's CI/CD.
• Uplift project team's agile maturity.
• Helping on handling internal governance procedures.  

• Core Java Expertise: Rich experiences in Java development for concurrency, Spring Boot/GCP Cloud and rich experiences in develop extra high resilience system.
• Cloud & DevSecOps: Proven Google Cloud experience (Cloud Run, BigQuery, Cloud Storage) and cloud architecture best practices.  Experience with Docker and Jenkins pipeline, and cyber security scanning experiences.
• Database: Strong skills in relational databases (PostgreSQL) and Google Cloud BigQuery.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complicated index calculating systems, optimize bottlenecks, provide system remediation solution in a very short time.
• Agile & Collaboration: Proficiency in Scrum/Kanban and remote teamwork.

• Strong leadership and strong communication skill on working with project team for application development, including collection & analysis of user requirements, systems design, development, testing and implementation.
