Securities Services Tech in China provides technology services and solutions for Securities Services businesses. We work in partnership with our business counterparts who rely on us for delivering innovative, robust, stable platforms to enable their investment and financial solutions for clients. These include both vendor based products and a number of award winning in-house systems.

The Opportunity:

Under Securities Services, Direct Custody operates in 30+ markets across 5 regions, services Assets under Custody of USD3 trillion, processes in excess of 1.8 million transactions each year and generates revenues of nearly USD1 billion per annum.

We are now inviting experienced professionals to join our Direct Custody Tech Team. As a full stack engineer, the candidate will work with the pod members in agile/Devops approach which covers the full SDLC cycle, includes analyze the business needs, identify the right solution, lead the development, support end to end testing with the business and provide on-going support afterwards.

What you’ll do:

• Analyze business needs and provide IT solutions to meet business requirements

• Design and develop IT solutions according to established standards and best practices. 

• Arrange and conduct testing to ensure the quality of deliverables

• Provide system support of business applications and resolve problems that may occur during business hours and non-business hours

• Provide on-going support and maintenance on existing IT solutions

• Adopt Agile / DevOps methodology for fast delivery in daily work

• Maintain a good working relationship with users

• Work closely with HSBC business and IT parties to meet business objectives

• A university graduate with degree in computer science, information technology or a related discipline

• Possess at least than 5 years’ IT experience in software design, development, testing and production support

• Relevant experience in Java application development, SpringBoot framework, micro service design, cloud platform technology, etc

• Strong system and business analysis skills with excellent knowledge of project life cycle and application development process

• Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving skills

• Ability to work independently and think out of the box

• Good command of written and spoken English,  with strong communication skills to work with partners globally

• An adaptable team player, able to work under pressure in a dynamic working environment

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Strong knowledge in domain/business areas learnt from project works, knowledge of securities custody business areas will be advantage

• Has solid experience involving in Agile software development with using DevSecOps technologies such as CI/CD, and cyber tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, SonaType Nexus IQ, Ansible, etc.
