The Opportunity:

  • Work as part of a team which will provide support to the Credit Advisory colleagues based in Hong Kong and Singapore, assisting in the origination, execution and management of the Credit Products and Portfolio. This is the fastest growing region for Wealth Management individuals globally and significant expansion in the Loan Book is forecast and expected in the coming years.    

What you’ll do:

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities (e.g., for Business, Customers and Stakeholders; internal control environment, etc.)

  • Handling of the daily collateral shortfall and credit limit excess process for both HK and SG booking centers from report dissemination to resolution planning and final approval, including communication and coordination with RMs, Credit Advisors and Credit Risk delegation holders.
  • Monitoring of credit approval conditions with identification and resolution of breaches in conjunction with RMs and Credit Advisors.
  • Monitoring the existing credit facilities, certifying compliance with approval conditions, documented covenants, and financial reporting requirements on a daily basis.
  • Preparation of management information required for weekly, monthly, and quarterly review, including KRI reporting, annual review overdue reporting.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly Regional Portfolio Review for GPB Senior Management presentation.
  • Liening and un-liening of accounts per Credit Advisor instruction.
  • Weekly concentration risk reporting.
  • Demonstrate expected core behaviours and values including teamwork, focus, drive, and determination.
  • Proactively identify gaps and report any irregularity to relevant stakeholder.
  • Observance with all regulatory and HSBC Group controls in line with published guidelines.

Leadership and Teamwork 

  • Providing support in the preparation of credit applications for new and existing credit facilities under the supervision of the Regional Credit Advisory teams.
  • Handle enquiries and provide support to Regional Credit Advisory teams. Provide suitable solutions to ensure the performance of credit facilities.
  • Cooperate with internal stakeholders.
  • Active member in the various committees.

 

Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Functional Knowledge

  • A desire to develop and improve processes, as well as a demonstrable track record of driving results while maintaining high global standards.
  • A strong ability to work in a team environment, adapt to an entrepreneurial group and to think and act independently.
  • Excellent oral and written skills of English is a pre-requisite with other languages an additional advantage.
  • Well organized and ability to prioritize a multitude of tasks across a variety of business stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Bloomberg, Excel and PowerPoint and other system applications strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of market risk concepts and financial products (multiple asset classes) including financial derivatives and structured products.
  • Previous private banking/Lombard risk experience is beneficial.
  • Good programming experience in VBA, SQL and Python.
  • Previous hands-on experience/understanding of derivative Greeks, traded portfolio margining and stress testing preferably in FX an advantage.
  • Enjoys working with large datasets.
  • Dashboarding experience in Qlik or Tableau is advantageous.
