We are seeking a highly experienced and product leader to join our Liabilities team, under Retail Products, International Wealth & Premier Banking as the Manager, Debit Card & Transaction Services in Malaysia. 

This is a critical product management role responsible for the end-to-end product lifecycle, strategic development, and operational excellence of our debit card and transaction services offerings, ensuring they meet the sophisticated needs of our affluent clientele.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the payments landscape, a strong command of product management best practices, and a proven track record of delivering market-leading solutions while navigating complex regulatory environments.

Job Purpose

The Manager of Debit Cards & Transaction Services will lead the product ownership, and operational management of debit card programs and transaction services for the bank’s Liabilities business under the Retail Products, International Wealth and Premier Banking. This role requires deep expertise in international schemes and local payment network schemes, payment rules & standards, and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong product management, technical, and operational risk management skills, ensuring seamless, secure, and customer-centric payment solutions for high-net-worth clients.

Key Responsibilities

Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Oversee the entire debit card product lifecycle, including design, pricing, and enhancements, specifically for Premier and Advance customer segments.
  • Collaborate with marketing and proposition teams to develop a comprehensive product strategy tailored for affluent client.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local and international payment schemes’ rules, including BNM’s policies
  • Monitor changes in scheme rules, regulatory guidelines and conduct gaps analysis

Operational Risk Management:

  • Work with global and local teams to implement fraud prevention and transaction monitoring measures
  • Work with multiple operations teams to ensure operational controls and operational efficiencies on all payments related operations  
  • Work with risk stewards to Identify and address risks within the payments ecosystem.

Scheme Management:

  • Maintain expert knowledge of payment schemes and manage relationships with them, ensuring compliance and performance optimization.

Product Performance Monitoring:

  • Track key performance indicators related to debit card services and drive customer usage and growth initiatives.

Customer-Centric Strategy:

  • Enhance the experience for Premier clients by tailoring debit card benefits and integrating solutions with banking platforms.
  • Work with customer experience teams and distribution touch-points to address customer feedback and to improve product offerings and ensure satisfaction.
Requisitos
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in the banking, payments, or scheme industries, with a significant focus on debit cards and transaction services.
  • Proven experience in a product management or product owner role, preferably within a large, global retail bank catering to Premier and affluent segments.
  • Deep expertise in debit card product management systems and technical aspects.
  • Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape for payments, banking, and debit cards, including BNM policies and guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of scheme rules, technical requirements and payments standards.
  • Technical proficiency in payment processing systems  
  • Operational risk management & controls expertise within a financial services environment, with deep understanding on fraud prevention and dispute resolution for payments related products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful product strategies that drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Highly customer-centric with a proven ability to translate customer needs into innovative solutions and with experience in high-net-worth or Premier segments.
  • Able to manage multiple projects at the same time whilst managing the daily operations of the business
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
