We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Director, Chief of Staff Office.
The Chief of Staff Office is small team that provide support to the Group Chief Risk & Compliance Officer (GCRCO) The team serve as a key liaison between senior executives, while contributing to the committed outcomes of the function and businesses. 

As Director, Chief of Staff Office you will hold a pivotal role, facilitating decisions, mediate across internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment across senior Risk and Compliance (R&C) stakeholders and OpCo level stakeholders, and enhancing communication channels. 

You will be accountable for group governance, on behalf of the GCRO, and work closely with Corporate Governance and Secretary to ensure an efficient and simplified governance frameworks are in place and operating effectively.

In addition, you will coordinate required briefing notes and presentations for all Regulatory engagement meetings with all UK and Overseas Regulators including central banks (i.e. PRA, FCA, OCC, FRB, BoE, HKMA, MAS, Bank of Malaysia, Industry Conferences) working with relevant SME’s, briefing GCRCO and liaising with regulatory affairs to ensure consistency of messaging across senior executives.

In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to: 

•    Act as the trusted advisor: providing governance and support across R&C OpCo-1 and the R&C function
•    Be a gatekeeper between the GCRCO, senior management, employees, and key group stakeholders; ensuring alignment, efficient communication, and seamless execution of priorities. 
•    Manage all Senior Manager Regime-related actions as they relate to the GCRCO’s mandates, including updates and approvals.
•    Support proactive and timely response to new regulatory requirements and expectations.
•    Take accountability for establishing and embedding a structured governance framework, ensuring effective decision making, risk oversight and leadership coordination
•    Be accountable for providing required briefing notes and presentations for all Regulatory engagement meetings with all UK and Overseas Regulators including central banks (i.e. PRA, FCA, OCC, FRB, BoE, HKMA, MAS, Bank of Malaysia, Industry Conferences) working with relevant SME’s, prepping GCRCO and attending as notetaker.
•    Be accountable for ensuring governance structures support regulatory and internal risk management expectations, reinforcing transparency and accountability. 
•    Lead, develop and motivate an effective team, ensuring development activities are a core priority and enable all team members to take reasonable time for learning and developmental activities.

Requisitos

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements: 

•    A varied career to date across both risk and business roles with the required subject matter expertise to understand and represent Risk matters to a desired level in briefing materials. 
•    Proven leadership experience and the gravitas and ability to build connections and work collaboratively across boundaries and to provide sound counsel to senior leaders of HSBC.
•    Practical experience of business transformation with global project management experience. 
•    Strong knowledge of global and regional/country regulatory landscape and ability to assess the impact of proposed changes in regulatory rules to the bank.
•    Ability to manage and mitigate operational risk effectively. 
•    Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key players in industry and regulators with aim of influencing policy decisions to protects banks interests.
•    Thorough understanding of advanced risk management techniques
•    Proven leadership skills. 

The base location for this role is London – Hybrid working
