Role Purpose:

HSBC’s Infrastructure Finance team, part of Global Corporate and Institutional Banking, provides a full suite of services to corporates, financial sponsors, financial institutions, and governments in several sectors, including Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, Renewables, Transportation, Logistics, Support Services, and Digital/Telecommunication infrastructure. The team provides a single point for clients to access advice on financing, capital structuring and debt capital markets, as well as the associated execution of mandates.

We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled professional to join our HSBC Infrastructure Finance team as a Director. You will be a key member of the team, responsible for the origination and execution of financing transactions for HSBC’s infrastructure client base. The successful applicant will provide support across a range of financing transactions in the aforementioned sectors. 

Ideal candidates should be team players, highly motivated, and passionate about the sector. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be interacting with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants, legal counsel, ratings agencies, and other market participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of applicable sectors and products, as well as market positioning, strategic focus and financing requirements of HSBC’s infrastructure clients
  • Originate, structure and lead the execution of infrastructure finance transactions for HSBC clients, demonstrating quality thought leadership
  • Lead the creation of marketing materials such as pitch books, proposals, teaser documents, information memoranda and financing terms and conditions
  • Oversee and assist in the preparation and negotiation of key financing and project-related documents, including internal documents like credit memos
  • Conduct thorough industry and company-specific research, coordinate due-diligence as debt advisor or arranger on complex non-recourse project finance transactions
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior colleagues on all aspects of structuring and leading infrastructure finance transactions, from financial modelling to due diligence to structuring and commercial negotiations
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other internal stakeholders and business units across regions within the bank
  • Contribute to the execution of the group’s overall business plan
Requisitos

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification from a reputable university, preferably in a relevant discipline. A post-graduate degree or CFA is an advantage
  • Strong deal execution experience in the global Infrastructure/Project Finance market
  • Proven track record in leading domestic and cross-border multi-currency, multi-tranche infrastructure advisory and financing transactions
  • In-depth understanding of financial markets, including credit analysis, rating methodologies, and credit metrics
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with a strong commercial orientation across various debt products, including loans, bonds, and derivatives
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to digest and communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner to both internal and external stakeholders
