The Opportunity:

  • To achieve this, the FSG are looking to recruit a Consultants in the Financial Accounting / Regulatory Reporting Capability. This position would be a good match for those with either a degree in a finance related discipline or those with experience working within Finance or related functions.
  • The successful candidate will help Global Finance build these capability streams and support the development of consultants within this area. The Consultants within the FSG will benefit from on the job coaching and development from the Senior Consultants and Capability Lead, as well as learning that has been developed specifically for HSBC Global Finance.

What you’ll do:

Consultants will be expected to:

  • Develop SME knowledge in Financial Accounting / Regulatory Reporting
  • Provide SME inputs into the change programs/BAU processes to which they are assigned.
  • Escalate any risks identified on their assignments and work with the team and stakeholders to resolve any challenges that may impact agreed outcomes.
  • The role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to build their SME knowledge across a wide variety of potential opportunities across BAU and Change programs, gaining experience and exposure to different senior stakeholders
  • The role requires a commitment continuous learning and a curious nature, to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement across Global Finance

Requisitos

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Experience relevant to role is preferred (GCB5), or a degree in a relevant discipline (GCB 6)
  • A good understanding of Regulatory Reporting/ Capital Reporting/ Liquidity Reporting/ Tax OR Knowledge of the Period end close, regulatory changes & other process risks/challenges is desirable
  • A base level understanding of financial products and how the global environment in which HSBC operates impacts pricing strategies, the banking business, balance sheet and P&L.
  • A working knowledge of the PRA rules/requirements (or another local regulatory body) and ability to implement/operationalize those rules and articulate any operational risk associated with adoption/implementation
  • Understanding of control frameworks and how to implement effective controls in practice
  • Ability to deal with and analyses unstructured problems and queries and to question and challenge existing procedures
  • Good understanding of the Balance sheet reconciliations & substantiation control process and to be able to mitigate accounting risk in the process.
  • An understanding of the Group Financial Reporting Process and Standards e.g. IFRS FinRep
  • An understanding of the key financial risks to which Banks are exposed e.g. Credit Risk, Market Risk etc.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical location
  • Understanding and interest in how new technology may be leveraged to improve Accounting Practices across the Organisation

What additional skills will be good to have?

  • Strong written and oral communicate skills (English plus local language of country where the role is located).  Ability to communicate complex ideas (e.g. relating to transactions/adoption of policies) in a simple manner to a global audience.
  • Multiple stake holder management experience
  • Project work experience
