Your career opportunity
The role provides essential support to the Infrastructure and Entity Regulatory Compliance team for HSBC Continental Europe. It plays a key part in enabling sustainable business growth by embedding a robust risk management culture within HSBC’s operations, ensuring compliance with both the letter and spirit of relevant regulations, and delivering fair outcomes for customers. The remit of the role is broad, encompassing compliance advice and oversight on entity-related matters, support for regulatory engagement as required, stewardship and management of RC risks, and timely responses to regulatory queries and findings. Additionally, the role is responsible for providing compliance oversight and challenge across relevant aspects of Infrastructure and Functions, as well as addressing general compliance issues as they arise. This comprehensive approach ensures the business remains compliant, resilient, and well-positioned to meet regulatory expectations.
The role holder will be required to interact with colleagues at all levels within the organisation in supporting impact analysis activities and providing advice on day to day issues arising, including conduct and regulatory changes. The role holder will also be required to undertake line management responsibilities locally for a small number of more junior colleagues.
What you’ll do
- Risk-management: Promote and sustain culture in alignment with Compliance's role as the 2LoD
- Compliance Policy and Regulatory Developments: Coordinating as appropriate the implementation of global standards and strategic policies which ensure designated entities exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately
- Advisory: liaison with relevant stakeholders to provide expertise and support on entity related matters, including outsourcing and cloud.
- Entity Compliance project support: supporting the implementation of Compliance programmes (eg conduct risk maturity) to quantify impacts and take actions to address, manage and mitigate regulatory change impacts on designated teams within the entity; providing timely updates to Head of Entity Compliance, and the Head of Regulatory Conduct, Europe and other key stakeholders.
What you need to have to succeed in this role
- Working experience as a compliance officer
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to support decisions with sound reasoning and clearly articulated justifications
- Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to think laterally and solve problems
- Understanding or experience working with corporate banking products and services
- Working in a major financial institution, within a matrix environment, including reporting internationally
- High level of professional and personal integrity
- Proficiency in English language (written/spoken/formal)
- Understanding of the purpose, value, culture, and fundamentals of the Compliance function
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities is essential
- Demonstrate sound judgement
What we offer
The pay range for this role is 12795 PLN - 18500 PLN (monthly, gross).
Variable pay is discretionary, but influenced by Group performance, business/function performance and individual performance.
